I'm not very elegant in my ideas, but I'll try to explain what I mean.
I believe EVE needs more roles, more like RL. OK.. so there's mining and production and everything that goes along with building your corp or empire... And then there's PVP fighting and agents and such, And even just hauling thru dead space... but I think there needs to be so much more... How about the little roles in life.. like, someone who gets paid to pickup the trash from each station, or someone who's job it is to provide services to the people.... What I mean is; EVE needs more content. I read somewhere how EVE could have Housing.. For instance, this idea could be turned into player owned businesses.. like a little shop that players could build. Anyway, please feel free to translate this into a solid idea and comment on anything you may find interesting. |

With housing they also said it wasn't likely to happen because of the lag it would cause.
But why have housing at all? I mean, I already have several houses. I can dock at each of them, have my garage full of ships, and even have my own storage area. And I have that all over Empire and some places 0.0 as well.
Also, small shops? Well, between the market, Escrow and people setting up websites for their shops, this feature is already included.
Garbage man? Already there. You can buy garbage and haul it somewhere else. I doubt anyone want to play the guy who walks around inside the station picking up trash wearing a glove.
Loads of ways to expand, and your suggestions would work well in any ordinary MMO, but not in Eve. For Eve we need something bigger, grander, and sci-fi :D and I'm afraid I don't have any ideas.

Yeah, I agree eve could use with more content like this.
People already do pickup trash through NPC trade runs, and I think even some player missions hand out these tasks.
Having player owned structures that could be made into shops (ammo, repairs, stuff like that) would be nice I think, stations are boring.

I really doubt this would cause much lag if each character was permitted one per region, and then it required skills + lots of effort to build. It's just a home in a safespot? Like a hide-away.. would be very cool.
I thought they were looking into it anyways?

I agree that the stations need to be expanded into a more interesting field of play in and unto themselves.
I also think there should be more roles, such as a Imperial Navy track where you spawn Imperial vehicles to fight enemy empires etc, gaining rank in that navy that allows you to spawn higher naval vehicles - but vehicles that are not yours the way normal civvy ships are. More like soldiers you spawn ala WWIIOL.
A political track, that allows you to control features of the Empires would be cool as well, set taxes, rents, decide what upgrades imperial stations get, set police levels, decide to wage war, RTS control police vehicles etc
And then of course the game obviously begs for Space Marines to wage boarding parties, fight inside stations and on the moons and planets.
And fighter pilots to man fighters, and gunners to man our guns.
The game has many ways to expand the field of play.

Maybe stop empire hugging and join a real player corp?

Edited by: Ellaine TashMurkon on 01/09/2006 08:35:26 Imagine You play for 2 years, build character with skills and fortune in assets but also relations and so on. Now Your contry is considered a wrong country to allow eve players. Youre banned. Go to separate server. Sounds like fun?
I'm not Chineese, but I know normal chineese players.
