Id say my PC has no problems handeling Eve (Celeron 2.4G, 2G ram, GF 6800) and have a connection 1Mb cable(256k/128K) But Eve is still jerky as hell. Eaven when i put it all on low graphics, so i guess its my connection, but isnt that enough? I used a connection monitoryng tool and Eve doesnt go over 20k/5k dl/ul. So what gives, ports maybe? Please come up with a solution asap. Thank you!

eve would even run on dialup, not that much data is transferred, pc speed seems fine too.
might be grafic card related or driver related... missing/wrong drivers make pc sloppy

The Celeron is an awful CPU to play with, especially older ones. Try disabling sound and/or reduce the graphics, because EVE is very CPU hungry.

Edited by: Tonamin1 on 01/09/2006 11:52:35 I hate it when people just see''Celeron'' and start dising it. Its 2.4G way enough to run eve. Must be something else, i suspect it might be my router. any USEFUL ideas? Cus it takes 3.4 sec to load the wallet.

well.. was it ever so? when not, since when? did you try to clear cache?
Try EveLauncher it clears the cache for you without killing your settings, sometimes the easy fix is the usual "clear cache and try again"

The people who say the Celeron is rubbish are right, and the 2.4GHz version is one of the worst of the lot. For running a CPU-intensive game like Eve a Northwood-based Celeron is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Take a look at the gaming benchmarks here while keeping in mind that Eve is more CPU bound than any of the games they are testing with. -------------------
