Hi,
This is a basic question so I prefer create a topic here than an another section of the forum.
Since I am bored when I warp to trade  , I do some future estimates of the skill influence, and compare Osprey and Vexor, but I don't understand how is calculated the Mining Amount of any Miner module.
I use an Osprey, who have a +20% Mining Yield per level.
I have Caldari Cruiser 4, Mining 4 and Astrogeology 3, and I use 3 Miner II.
So when I tried by myself to do the calculation, I find :
(((60*1.20^4)*1.05^4)*1.05^3) = 175.07 * 3 = 525.21
Same if I only use Cruiser and Mining, I find 151.23 (453.69).
But I have only... 149.04 (447.12). Screenshot :

Sorry I dont have a lot of time to explain this in text, but here you go:
60 * 1.20 * 1.15 * 1.8 = 149.04 exactly.
60 - Base mining amount
1.20 - 20% bonus from Mining IV
1.15 - 15% bonus from Astrogeology III
1.8 - 80% bonus from Cruiser IV

You're doing the calculations wrong. A skill bonus or ship bonus doesn't multiply itself. That is to say, bonuses of the same 'source' are additive, and those of different sources are multiplicative.
In this case, you have 3 miner IIs in your Osprey.
Mining yield of the Miner II is 60, right? From the cruiser bonus, you get (0.2*4)+1= 1.80 (80% bonus, 20%+20%+20%+20%). From mining you get (0.05*4)+1 = 1.2 (20% bonus, 5%+5%+5%+5%). From Astrogeology you get (0.05*3)+1 = 1.15 (5%+5%+5%).
So, total yield is 60*1.8*1.2*1.15 = 149.04, which is the number you got.

As it's been answered I'll just add, get some drones mate. They are a life saver and 4 scout can protect you from most rats better than a missile launcher, use no ammo and take up no CPU. Thus it can be used for other things like remove of the CPU upgrade and adding a cargo expander.

Not for an Osprey. An Osprey has a 4th high slot, which can only fit a launcher (I personally reccommend an assault launcher in high sec), thus freeing its drone bay up for mining drones.
In comparison, a mining barge has to use its drone bay for combat drones to defend itself.
An Osprey with mining drones, a decent level of the mining drone skill and drone interfacing can just about outmine a Retriever with T1 strip miners, if I haven't done my calculations wrong.
