Yeah I was a little suprised by this bug, I mean an XML error from CCP causing the whole program to have to exit? O well, it was fixed fast, although I might choose to handle the error a bit better.

Which only affects an old, and no-longer updated version. The sending of the XML in this fashion is by design to ensure people update from a version that hammers CCP's servers.

It was already fixed a long time before the issue came up. And the bad XML was the best way to force people to upgrade, since their EVEMon wouldn't work any longer.

IMHO if it failed to update and did not crash I would probably look for an update anyways, the crashing made me think something was wrong with my new windows install/settings file. It didn't take me long to figure out why it wasn't working, but it was a bit confusing. I went to your main site saw I still had the same version on that page, went to support forums saw that there was a new site, then downloaded new version.
I just really hate unhandled exceptions. An error message stating there was a problem and to check if there was an eveMon update would be much better imho.
Anyways I really like evemon, and has replaced eve character monitor.

If we could have accessed the auto-updater on the old site, the move wouldn't have been necessary and none of this would have been happening right now.
Unfortunatley Six has been absent, and nobody else had access to the old site, only the SVN repository Hence the site move, and the need for CCP to block 1.0.25 from their end.
hopefuly, with the switch of the stickies, the broken 1.0.25 all of the rough patches are over and done with.
Future updates will be automatic, and there is more than 1 person with the keys to the server, so there wont be a single point of failure for this to happen again.

Check if you got any special characters in your password.
Tried to add account that had a * in the password and evemon always failed to connect. Changed the pass and it worked like a charm.

Considering "a pair of Boots" is something you wear on your feet, to "boot" something is to give it a hard kick, it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Give your Computer a hard reboot". (BTW I'm English)

I have to point out to the evemon crew, that having 2 sites up at the same times can cause people to distrust one or both.
If the old site is no longer valid, a simple page to tell the viewer to goto the correct site would be in order (all other pages removed). As is, I could assume one is legit and the other is a site to spread a keylogger or worse, under the guise of it being the "new" or old evemon.
Just some constructive thoughts for them.

Thanks for taking the time to read this thread, the sticky or any other of the dozens of threads where its explained why the move was needed.
The owner of the old domain is missing and has been for months. As the only person with access to that server, taking the pages down is impossible. Had it been possible, the move wouldn't have been needed.
once again, thanks for taking the time to read before posting.

And naming the rear of a car after the front of an elephant makes sense how?

Maybe because it more often means a hinged box that sometimes has a lock. Where as a boot is more often a shoe imho.
Also box trunk appears to be old french, and tree/animal/thorax trunk appears to be from latin... showing that again... languages wern't meant to come together. Luckily all these rely on context and can usually be easily understood.
