This doesn't mean a thing. WOW picked up more subs since last x pac than EVE has ever seen. That and Blizzard will not allow a post about this to stay up on their general forums for longer than 5 minutes before removal.
CCP has totally ****** this game between the ****** jump changes and the upcoming changes to isboxer.
EVE is tired and old it has had it's day but now it is just dated.
Does not make EVE a bad game but mmorpg of the year? doesn't mean anything when you are allowed to vote 3 times a day.
If Blizzard would allow a post about this to stay up on the main forums WOW would crush the polls as they are over 10 million players again.
If you need this poll to tell you that EVE is good and it is that important to you, then maybe you need to really look at the game you are playing.
If you like it good if not then quit. I just had tons of pre paid time so I am still around for now, but I do not need some poll to tell me what game I like. |

People are always crying or talking about 'all the bots' in Eve, and yet flying around, I don't see any. I can log into WoW, and quickly find bots. I can log into age of conan, guildwars 2, runescape. minecraft even, and quickly find bots. Eve is one of the few places where bots are so incredibly sparce. Why? Two reasons: First, ccp is proactive with clearing them. Second, and more importantly, there are serious consequences to allowing bots in your alliance or corporation, CCP will penalize you, for allowing bots to play in your group, so players try to make sure that bots get reported quickly, when it looks like they exist.

If you want to vote for other games, that's fine. It's your vote after all.
If you want to complain about the state of EVE, this voting drive or EVE's nomination suitability in various categories, that's fine too. Everyone's entitled to have an opinion.
I'd ask however that this thread not be used for those 2 points. This is purely for drumming up support. As i've said before, this for me is about making a statement on our community, therefore I care about the outcome. Others may not, but I do.
I don't care about which website is hosting the vote, how popular it or not it is or how much traffic we are driving to their website. I care about making a statement about this community which i'm honored and proud to be part of. I'd like other places outside of EVE see that.
If you want to make your points on who else you want to vote for or what you think of EVE, there are other and better places on this forum to do that. Of course I can't stop you from posting here, I can only ask.

It's more about doing something back for the community and with that getting some free advertisement for the thing we already love. Based on the playerbase, ofc we wouldn't have a chance, but because of that it's all the more fun that EVE is nr. 1 on those 4 categories at the moment.
EVE winning awards == more players == more fun for all of us.
