Seems to be some german UI code got slipped into the english system is all. I'm guessing they'll clean it up in the next patch.

Maybe the message is Austrian?
Seriously though that sounds pretty noob German, the 'Das' has to go IMO. Oh well who cares about german every year they bring out new rules for the 'correct german'

Here in austria we learn German and speak "German".
"Das Training" is okish. "Der Training" haha. "Die Training"
or should they translate it 100% and write "Das Trainieren"?
"Das Training" is totally perfect.

Edited by: Sadayiel on 02/09/2006 14:47:01 okay if you read the Dev Blog about the number is 32 explain it easily.
seems that with dragon code, and adding the german options, there is a mess with something in the part of code something so old that even CCP forgot it was there.
in the dev blog explain the chances of such things happens and so, and don't worry it's just temporal i think

its not, cause Training is english, and Das is a german article. So mixing both makes me cry.
correct it would be:
Das Trainieren der Fertigkeit "Iron Will" auf Stufe 1 wurde abgeschlossen

a 100% translation would OF COURSE be the best way. However if you translate "Training" into german you get "trainieren" and for "Trainieren" the correct article is "das".
So why not use the "correct" german acticle for the english word? It is the same with Playstation, in german you say "Die Playstation" and not "Die Spielestation"
EDIT: Why not translate Iron will aswell? Eiserner Wille if you want

The german translation is horrible like that to the well educated at many points I am afraid. Seems like it was done by people whose main source of info is the Bild-Zeitung :( Not even mentioning some glaring errors and how bug reports pointing them out are ignored... --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Maybe people are confused, because although 'the training' is a usual noun, 'training' in the english sentence here is a gerund. In the German version they used 'das Training', which is the correct translation for 'the training'. 'Das Training' has found it's way into German, while the gerund in 'training blabla to lvl. 5 had completed' would translate to 'das Trainieren'
To be more clear: "Training of the skill ... has been completed." -> "Das Trainieren ..." "Our training was successfull." -> "Unser Training war erfolgreich."
So the translators used some freedom in their Translation, but it preserves the meaning.
P.S.: If that's all wrong, I'm not a pro in German, although it's my mother language and especially not in English.

Maybe it's a result of the hash collision bug mentioned in the sticky dev blog.

Nah, correct it's "Das Trainieren der Fertigkeit "Iron Will" auf Stufe 1 wurde abgeschlossen.", you missed the full stop, it's a full sentence and no head line :P.
And "das Training" is in the Duden, so it's fine also. --

Look for Reginald Perrin's Dutch-Dutch dictionary, in which every word of the Dutch language is listed alongside its equivalent in Dutch.
Meaningless? Precisely. It's double-dutch. ________________________________________________
