Hello, I am somewhat new to the game and am interested in using Drones. Can Drones be used for PVP and PVE and if so is their a minimtar ship you would recommend.

Drones are a gallente specialisation (apart from the arbitrator hull)
Minmatar will not give you very effective droneships, but you can train cross-race without penalty.
Yes, drones are a very strong weapon in PvP, and strong, though risky in PvE.
Battleship, you want a dominix.
Battlecruiser, there is not currently a drone BC, but the myrmidon (soon to be introduced gallentean second BC) will most likely be a droneship.

BC's don't have a droneship, until you get to tech 2, then it is the Eos, and even then it is only a drone bay bonus, not a drone damage bonus. That said, like one poster said, Kali will probably introduce the gallente's drone BC.

I fly a typhoon(minmatar battleship) and use drones extensively. If you want to fly Minmatar its a nice droneship, htough not bonuses to drones it does have 175m^3 drone bay, meanign you can fit 4 heavy/sentry, 5 med and 5 light.

Hmm if u want matar ships only then here my lil list:
Frig:
-Vigil can use one drone, then again the ship is very fast and i rly like it.(btw the mining frigs can get better drone space but i tend to think they suck)
Cruiser:
-Bellicose plz dont ever touch this cruiser, honestly not worth it, go for the rupture 30m3 for donre space. (not much but at least u can deply 5 of em)
Battlecruiser:
-Cyclone....theres only one per race so w/e...in either case it has 40m3 space for drones
Battleships:
-Typhoon if ur into drones this the the matar ship for u 175m3 drone space. (plz note that this ships is very skill intensive because u need top gun/missle/drone skills to fly it properly)
As far as drone ships go gallente r the undisputed kings...even theyr dread had a large bay for them....so unless u truly love matar (like i do) id say go gallente if u want to be a true drone user.

The Typhoon is the drone boat for Minmatar, and yes is it very skill intensive. But it is an awesome ship.
The story goes that ages ago some Matari engineers salavaged 2/3rds of a raven and 2/3rds of a domi from wreckage strewn battlefield, welded (okay duct-taped...) them together and bolted on a few ACs for good measure. Thus the first Typhoon was born and became the most powerful BS in the galaxly, because it was in fact 1 and 1/3rd BSs and thus able to unleash 33.33% more pawnage upon those who would shackle the proud Matari people in anything other than their scared duct-tape. The End.

NOpe the race u pick doesnt stop u from using any other race's ships and bonuses, simply train for it.
