Edited by: Mads Christensen on 03/09/2006 11:22:46 What is it that gives us purpose? War.
What is it that gives war purpose? To Vanguish the foes of the Caldari.
Who are the foes of the Caldari? The Amarr, the Gallente and the Minmatar.
What is it to be an enemy of the Caldari? It is to be damned.
What is the instrument of the Caldari's damnation? We, the C.L.A., the bringers of life and death.
What is it to be a Caldari? It is to be pure, to be strong, to show no pity, nor merce, nor remorse.
What is it to be pure? To never know fear, never waver in fight.
What is it to be strong? To fight on when others flee; to stand and die in the knowledge that death brings the ultimate reward.
What is the ultimate reward? To serve the Caldari.
Whom do we serve? We serve the Caldari and the C.L.A., and through them we serve mankind.
What is it to be in the C.L.A.? It is to be the first, the honoured, the sons and daughters of the Caldari.
What is our quest? To purge our shame through the death of those who turned against the Caldari.
What is our victory? To remake that which was broken, to earn the trust of the Caldari once more.
What is the fate of the Fallen we hunt? Retribution and Death!

"The Caldari Oat" Where are the promised grains?
This is much more hard-line than what I've gleaned from other Caldari writings. What inspired this 'oath'?

Sounds like they were inspired/ripped from the Legionnaires Astartes, aka Space Marines from Warhammer 40K.
One of them, off the top of my head:
What is your duty? To serve the Emperor's Will
What is the Emperor's Will? That we fight and die
What is death? It is our duty
In my opinion, it'd be more fitting for the Amarr to have these sort of chants as the pseudo-religious nature of the Space Marines dedication to the Emperor fits the Amarr dedication to their Emperor to a tee.
What's the C.L.A. though?

I'm sure there are some true patriots amongst the Caldari, and the Caldari spirit of Corporation > Family > Self is going to make patriots put a Nation > in front of that.

Yes is is from the Dark Angels from the Space Marine race in the warhammer 40k game. I've played Space Marines myself and therefor i liked the oat.
C.L.A. is the Caldarian Liberation Army and was a corp i formed while back.

By the way, it's Oath.

Sorry, but whenever I hear that sort of name I always get Life of Brian flashbacks.
"You the Caldari Liberation Army?" "**** off! We're the Liberation Army of Caldari."
Edit: fixed formating
