Just curious, because being the sort that gets upset if a ship falls beneath 500m/sec, I'm wondering if anyone goes the 'slow-as-snot-supertank' route'.
More importantly, is the plating enough such that, in anyone's experience, its saved their lives vs either NPC or PC adversaries? Hate to think these modules are only just recycling fodder, especially considering how much cargo space they take! Its not even economical to really transport them away from a pirate spawn unless you -do- have an indy backing you up.

Actually, I used three 50mm Rolled Thungston Armor Plates on my Punisher... My armor got to 50% while my hull was at 0% and I blew up. So they suck in my opinion.

I dont use them, and i know of no1 that uses them.
The problem u have is do they really outway the bonus u get from dmg mods???.
I would rather hit harder, and last less time than last longer because i had more hull.
i would rather fit cap boosters. but i use ecm.

I'd say people use them. 1600mm armor plating is in pretty good demand if you can find it.

I've wondered about it myself .. the 1600 looks good, nearly 50% for some ships isnt bad :)
imho though they need to change the amount of bleed-through, say in proportion to the ships base armour amount (ie if you have greater than the base value remaining the armour absorbs all the damage .. so those who invest in skill training or armour platings get solid protection from the extra) then have the bleed-through proportional to the % remaining . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Damage mod stacking is nerfed, the difference between 1 and 2 damage mods on my Megathron is about 0.25 on the multiplier. Much better to have 1600 more armour imo.

Actually I believe the bleed-through is a bug. The amount that's taking place shouldn't be happening without the Armor Piercing skill, which is unavailible.
There is shield bleed-through as well but I've rarely seen it achieved since the skill for shield piercing is unavailible. Which is annoying in itself as there's no reason to train tac shield maniupulations beyond lvl 1.

Jash... doesn't taking Tac. Shield past lvl 1 reduce cap drainage from hardners ? Atleast thats what I thought I read. If I am right then every MWD lover with hardners get a benefit for taking it to lvl 4 because you need ever ounce of cap you can muster from every mid and high item bonus you can get.

Tactical Shield Maniupulations: Operation of shield hardeners and other advanced shield modules.
Bonus: 5% reduced chance of damage penetrating the shield.
Essentially there's a chance for part or even all of a shot travelling clean through shields straight into armor. Was active during beta.

So, the 1600mm's actually drop?
Best I've seen from 50k pirates has been 400mm platings.

Can only be found in spawn containers (at places like abandoned stations and wrecks)
