Edited by: terje on 03/09/2006 18:40:40 would be cool if for certain transactions you would have to actaully travel to the system and put isk in cash form in a trade window. this would open up huge potential for the drugs market and also would make life more interesting if trading on black markets. would be nice to find cash in a detroyed ships cargo. Your thoughts please

I've thought of this too.
Bank accounts and hangars are almost too protected.
Bank accounts I think should have to be opened at certain stations for a fee, otherwise you should need cash without a line of credit handy. It's a convenience therefore it should be an isk sink unless people want to be predicatable.
Similarly, I think people should be very wary of the corporations they choose, because other people or station owners should have a limited ability to at least lockdown a player's assets. And then put them up for public auction after 24 hours.
If you want to protect yourself, you have to use paid per m3 lockboxes from the station, or use hangars in stations without a corp hangar. It's like a numbered account to whom you can give anyone the password if you wish.
Some folks might get robbed of course, but those corps will get a bad rep. Players will look for corps that are exquisitely well organized, and perhaps who will compensate them for the risk involved in trusting them.
Whines about corp theives will turn from "OMG we just wanted to exploit your labor and your robbed us," too "Well, we all accepted his buy-in on shares which we are keeping as collateral, and the corp vote made him a security officer, and then he tried to burn us, but we were paying attention."

I think cash once existed as item in eve.. I think it was "gold"... Not sure if it was in beta but maybe after it. Not sure why it was removed then.

Edited by: Krist Valentine on 04/09/2006 13:10:34 I agree with most of the ideas here, but I don't like the idea of cash being looted from ships. Sorry, but the e-wallet is just so much more realistic to me. Makes everything feel automated and official, like a bank transaction. - - - - - Krist Valentine > Anti Pirate [An-tee-py-rut] - NOUN - Miner who got podded and trained for a Ferox. |
