Are T1 Damage Control units worth having or should I use something else in that slot?

I sheild tank and I swear by them. They effectively double hull hitpoints plus add that tiny bit of extra resistances that can make all the difference.

If your trying to make the most effective specific tanking setup, then yeah, better with another hardener or something. But for more generalised setups, a Damage Control is far superior. Having double hull hp is much more useful than say, an extra 5% resistance to armour from an 3rd or 4th EANM II or such like -----

DCUs are almost the PDUs of armor tanking. They offer a slew of nice bonuses at very little cost. They are also especially effective with mutiple EANMs as they are not subject to the stacking penalty. Even when they are not the "best" possible choice for a set-up, they are never a wasted low-slot.

I used to hate the things, saying that i'd rather fit a Damage mod or an EANM, but alot of people argues some good points over a time and I realized that they are a very good option in a lot of situations.
They effectivly double your hull HP, which = alot of HP on Gallente ships atleast, and when stacking is applied can somtimes give you higher resists than that extra EANM. They take barley any cap and aren't hard to fit too, so a good consideration. ----- Move along, nothign to see here... |

they are really good but you have to remember to turn them on. most of the time unless I really need one I'll just use an passive hard for this very reason lol

if ur shieldtank fails then the DCM is ur ticket out cuz it lets u armor and hulltank as wel hehe (unless ur webbied/scrambled offcourse )
If u happen to have a spare low slot, then this is the thing to fit, wonder when ccp will release the T2 version. Banner will be updated shortly |

Also remember that the resistances given by the Damage control arent affected by the stacking pentaly I swear by them in almost every tanked ship I fly now.

well my rax would have died tonight if it wasnt for the damage control i fitted. Survivied a 3v3 but went to 54% hull.
