If "to raise rating" is to raise security standing: train for Retribution and get into 0.0 in off-peak hours. Find a quiet spot, make safesport, kill BSes, forget about the loot. ------ No ISK, no fun |

That's a good way to get shot by Agony Unleashed. I agree with an above poster who mentioned ISS. That'd be your best bet.

Head down to Providence dear and let us have some fun. I just got from -5 to -3.9 in my trusty frig and am loving it. PLC may choose a different path but while I rat down there it gets rather lonely (FRIKING 0.0 SPACE IS EMPTY most of the time).
Just use a scout to get through the choke point in r3-k and your set.

BOB does not rent out syndicate, they find the veldspar far to usefull to endanger it. Please leave now, this tread may contain traces of nuts and other products used in the creation of BOB and its friends.

It is relatively easy to find some nice quiet 0.0 to rat in, and very easy to escape death once in your system with care.

Edited by: Tito Taneki on 04/09/2006 11:36:57 Yes, I'd do it in npc space, where there is either noone, who 'claims' it or at a place that's too far off the main systems.
There are usually some strongholds in npc 0.0, where corps and friends hug together and where they really react to intruders, grab their covert ops, bubble the gates etc. But there are also systems that are no-man's-land. If you always manage to escape and harm noone, people probably lose interest in you fast. "Go to save early to give them no chance to get you, don't smack, wait, go on" ... Standard ratter tactics. I like it and hate it, depends on if I'm the ratter or the hunter Ok, having some friends there makes it a lot more relaxing. edit: But don't do it in GW, otherwise they maybe blame me for saying such things ! --------- Plutoinum |

The hardest part about ratting in 0.0 is simply getting past the choke points, the entrances to 0.0 from Empire. Those are typically camped. Just use the map to see what's been goin on in the past hour, and make sure you have your instances and your insure and clone up to date. It may take a few tries. Getting in after DT with a cheap frig to make extra BMs such as safespots, supersafespots and other tactical BMs is a good idea. Jump between plantes when being hunted is extremely nervewracking!

Why ask just take, their are many back routes into 0.0 areas just go deep down the pipe and get lost, the only people that might bother you will be the roving pirate gangs around the area.

Paying anyone for access to freespace is anathema to our roles as capsuleers.

Get 2-D maps, find a deadend system in an npc region where the security status is neither really good or really bad, take a cloak, and if anyone unfriendly comes into the system go to safe and cloak until they leave or are established not to be hostile.

One cannot claim "ownership" of something one did not create. We all operate in freespace. Alliances who block off the frontier claiming ownership of sectors of our universe are merely squatters with those big guns you mention.
Developing the economies and culture of the frontier regions serves the common good for all capsuleers; alliance or not.
Are there risks involved for those brave souls who refuse to pay for access to various regions of space? Of course. However, our immortality should assuage many of those fears and make them essentially moot.
I live on the frontier and accept all the risks associated with that choice. I have visited clone vats several times and will continue to make my mark on the frontier and encourage others to throw off the false barriers that are erected to prevent the advancement of freespace ideals.
