I'll repeat what i said in another thread:
I found this pretty interesting. I'd given Techell far less credit than they apparently deserve in terms of planning and general business "savy".
They were far smaller than I thought and did well to get where they have.
Less "luck" and more "work" than i've credited them with up till now.
Good job, good interview, good luck.

Sorry did not mean to double up just seems that it was not key on that much on the boards since it was not and "Negative" post. Seems that everyone just wants to complain and flame no one wants to look at things that are neutral or good.
Also this interview was kind of put on the side seat becuase of the 18 hours of downtime that happened right after this interview was posted. |

Quote: we still sell about 40 battleships a day

I read this a few days ago and have talked to some people regarding this... everyone I talked to raised their eyebrows over that comment right there. Someone please explain how you can BUILD 40 battleships in one day without serious pre-patch copies?

Well, there are 8 different ships and you can build one every 4 or so hours. That's 48 ships in 24 hours with one copy of each BP.
Or does it take longer to build?

Edited by: Crimsonjade on 16/10/2003 23:00:17 you are right... it could take less time with prod eff too which i am sure they have. for some reason i was thinking they only had 6 of 8 copies (forgive me for misreading). now the question is: how do you sell 7 typhoons a day?

but seriously, grats to techell for raising the bar on production.

My guess is they have one copy of each, and two of the more popular ones.

Edited by: Voldemort on 16/10/2003 23:48:33 That is a really nice interview. I think all corporations could learn from these guys and there hard work.

I congradulate them for their success ,it was obvious they earned it by hard work. but.there's something I don't like about game and which have nothing to do with them.it's the changing nature of the game rules (it remainds me of third world goverments).I'm about to aquire a bs bp ,with my colculations if i do good I get my invested funds in about 3 months ,in contrast ppl who got them before the removal of unlimited copys needed to sell only 3 or 4 bpc which i don't think was much hassle to do that in very short time and get even some extra by selling more bpc .so i don't see fairness here and i'm confused do I go ahead and buy the bs bp or not.( my first whining ever ). I apologies to techell for my post might not be the right place for it .

Just wanted to post the 40 BS's a day was 5 off. It is about 35 per day (yea I don't know who could sell 7 typhoons a day). And I thank you for your kind words.
Just a comment on the last post. If you notice our stragy was to produce off of our copies not sell them. I think CCP had this in mind when they made them Unlimited. This is how we got ahead of the Thorax demand but if we would have sold them off we would not have made near the money that we needed to be able to get our first BS BP. But even if you could still do these kinds of copies now. When you are in the first couple of corps on the market with a product the profits tend to be higher. Again comming to supply and demand.
If you have any questions about the interview or any ships, feel free to drop me an eve mail.
