Hi, I've developed the following fit for doing L3 Distribution missions. Expanded Cargo is necessary to meet the mission requirements. Otherwise I've tried to maximise tank so as to discourage ganking. Any advice as to how to improve upon this much appreciated.

Fit a buffer tank instead of an active one as you only need to outlast the attackers until CONCORD arrives. Go for kinetic and thermal resistances. Fit warp speed rigs.

As mission cargo is only valuable to the person handling the mission, it's not likely to be a target for ganks. I would encourage you to use a fit that maximizes warp speed and align time to minimize the damage to your brain that can be caused by the boredom of chain running distribution missions.
You'll want to use the fit just for mission running though, and if you do need to move actual cargo, of course you would switch to a heavier tanked hauler.
As to the fit itself, keep in mind that although buffer is good, each one of those shield extenders is increasing your signature radius which in turn increases the amount of damage that will be applied to your hauler. |

As mentioned it will be highly unlikely that you will be ganked. The only exception is if you are autopiloting. If you really think you are being targeted for one reason or another, the safest thing to do is use the MWD Cloak trick every time you warp, in that case I would use this:
[Nereus, L3 Distribution] Mark I Modified SS Expanded Cargo Mark I Modified SS Expanded Cargo Beta Hull Mod Nanofiber Structure Beta Hull Mod Nanofiber Structure Damage Control II
Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Improved Cloaking Device II [empty high slot]
Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
If you want to autopilot (not recommended) use this it will survive any single ganker, unless they decide to waste a pricey ship for lolz:
[Nereus, L3 Distribution AP] Mark I Modified SS Expanded Cargo Mark I Modified SS Expanded Cargo Beta Hull Mod Nanofiber Structure Beta Hull Mod Nanofiber Structure Local Hull Conversion Overdrive Injector I
Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
[empty high slot] [empty high slot]
Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
The thing about using active modules is you have to turn them on immediately every time or you will be vulnerable to being alpha'd by a Tornado so I echo Abrazzar in only using buffer.

I concur with this. I was working on Caldary faction and Caldary Navy standings by running distribution missions only (trade char, so no combat skills whatsoever), so I have run hundreds and hundreds of distribution missions. I was never ganked. I did lose two ships, but only in low sec. So forget about tanking (well, except filling mids with shield extenders) and go for hyperspace speed (rigs) and agility (inertia stabs). Replace 1 or 2 istabs with cargo expanders if mission dictates so. |

I tried all kinds of ways to pull off the 10MN MW before coming across your post but could not find the power needed. I ended up with the config below but it's not quite satisfying. What skills effect your power plant for the MW?

Hmm, I am fairly certain the only two that affect that fit would be Engineering and Shield Upgrades.
With skills at lvl5 it says there should be 32.8 grid left, so with both of those skills at 4 it should fit fine.
If for some reason you don't want to train those skills (you should) you can sub one of the Nanos with a Beta Reactor Control: Diagnostic System I for +5% power or if that's still not enough you can use a Compact Reactor Control Unit for +12%

dunno about the ner' but using BADGERBADGERBADGERBADGER - MUSHROOM! I had great time doing distribution L4 missions and L3 missions while getting my standings.
The trick was to check what is the max cargo space I'll need for all agents at the same time, toss some shield buffer\resists tank and then use rigs and low slots (if any were free) for faster movements and warp travel.
worked great.

If you plan on actively running the distribution missions, then you've got some great advice above.
If there's something else productive you could be doing and you plan on autopiloting the missions, you should consider swapping in some overdrive injectors for your lows to speed up what will be the longest part of the trip - slowboating 15k to the gate after landing from an autopilot warp. |

I would look to having sufficient cargo hold to complete several distribution mission loads at a time and fit the remainder to increase speed. There is no reason to gank a distribution mission hauler for obvious reasons unless maybe they have a raggy doll fetish.
I have been unwell but last time I logged on there was a CODE event to gank everything on the trade route from Hek to Dodixie. Barring these kind of events you should be safe as houses.
