I have been stuck since tuesday, i have petitioned & emailed with no response to either. i said it before & ill say it again, its not the players that will kill the game its ccp, for the lack of support. unfortunately i missed the cut off date and have over 2 months left to be stuck. great.

Odd. I've been stuck and unstuck about 3 times since then. I always get unstuck in about 10 minutes. If not I'm unstuck after downtime. Something keeping you stuck after downtime must be a special case. Are you petitioning under the "stuck" category?

yes i used the stuck petition, but i just tried logging in again ( still stuck/blackscreened ) and i pressed escape, and used the petition button again and was able to make another petition, now the only think i can think of that the petition got wiped when the upgrade happened as i know that we can only have 1 stuck petition at a time.
The email i sent ( approx 24 hrs ago ) also hasnt been replied to yet, i can understand that they have a lot of emails to traul through but surely they use a filter to determine the emails with "stuck" in the title.
My fear is that TQ will eventually be made into a CHAOS, where everything is free for the last few hundred players. I havnt seen more than 3k players on at the same time for a while.
Its a damn shame such a great game has so many bugs.

normally over 5k on evenings european times..
cant believe youve been stuck for that long, totally insane. 
grab your alt and hit the "help" channel in game and cause a huge stink (just dont swear) if i were you.
longes tive ever been stuck was 45 minutes, normally its closer to 10 mins.

Normally? Check that again Morkt the servers havn't seen 5k except for Sundays in quite a while. You can see for yourself at Eve-i.
Unless of course european evening times arn't shown for some reason or you borrowed Erty's glasses.

oresome, i got moved and i was unstuck. The first petition i mentioned had been closed awaiting a response, the second had done its job and free'd me, cool, thank you. So, i undocked to see the stars i had missed for so long. entering space... entering space... i relogged to find... i am stuck again. i cannot open another petition as the last is still open. I guess i am said special case.

Try renaming your cache folders
to cache2 and creating a new empty Cache folder.
solves a lot of blacksceen problems.

I had the same problem recently and it ended up being a corrupted file. Did a reinstall and unstuck.
Had to do the same thing again yesterday as eve decided to loose the side bar etc after CTDing

what system you at? Use an alt to make the petition for you.

I second the suggestion of renaming/deleting the cache directory under your Program Files/CPP/Eve directory. Methinks the data in there can become corrupt and cause problems. Just delete the cache subdirectory and try again.

hi, thank you for all the suggestions & help it really is appreciated, i have petitioned in an alt with success, yet i have been moved to the same system i was stuck in the first time, and am stuck again. I have totally removed the cache folders inbetween petitions without success. I tried again just to make sure, and i watched the client created the directories as it should, logged in and its all black still. Unfortunately I dont have the client/box here to reinstall, & i dont have the cd key either.
I am going to leave it there. Again, thanks. 
EDIT: when they said "player support" i didnt think it meant actually... from .. the players.

... You can download full install version of the client from the "Patches" section, and no cd key is needed as long as you remember your login and password.

hehe - yeah you are right.. id only been going on my own straw pole info at logon...
somewhat dissapointing.

A suggestion:
If you are getting stuck exiting a station be sure you don't have any mines loaded. Also, sometimes it a good idea to unmount all your modules before undocking right after getting unstuck.
