Saw a big red blob on the map on my way through Tribute, attacked an Apoc with an Ibis in IMK; the Apoc didn't tell me what it was about.
Rumour has it that Razor or D2 was deploying an Outpost egg (OE-4HB is a -1.0 system, shiny rocks and rats FTW!) but Outbreak came in and spoiled the party. -----

2 x good fights. One slightly marr'ed by lag, but the first between Outbreak and Razor was good. 30-2 ratio on kills to losses.
Then TCF came to assist on the egg.
Rawr and D2 came to assist Razor. Iron gang also sighted in system
Local hit 220 at one point, got laggeh but still we tried to have a fleet fight, props to Razor/Rawr/D2 for their response to allies, and props to TCF for coming along for the good fight night.
Although the funny moment came just as we jumped into Razor's gate camp, a message from CCP popped up warning players of lag due to bookmark copying, made me chuckle heh.
Razor egg is up, as it was protected by the allied fleet.
grats on your hatched egg :) ___________________________________ Outbreak. |

Nothing to see(literally) on a more serious note the first figt was decent considering we jumped in although there was alot of lag. guns not actvating for a while etc then getting stuck on a totally random target 4tl.
the second fight when RZR + Allies jumped in from 42x i belive was a complete lagfest. Target callers calling people i couldnt see and being shot at / tackled by an invisible tackler o.O seriously like what happened with you guys that jumped in? i saw local bump by 100 but like less than 10 ships show up by the gate inspace and on my overview o.O.
Anyway good job on RZR getting up a quick response team from them + thier allies to protect the egg. i just wish we could have had a better/more enjoyable lag free fleet fight rather than waiting 2mins for a lock 2mins for guns to start shooting and invisible people o.O

First off congratz to the station
We went there to get some fleet action and so we got =)
Second off,
CCP this is a outrage, the lagg in that system was not acceptble for a game.
Sort this..

Fun fact, the egg was in space for approximately 26 hours, not counting 2 hours of downtime. We're like the worst alliance ever.

Yep the lag sucked. In about 20 minutes of me engaging in the second fight I managed to fire perhaps 6 cruise missiles, 10 rounds and jammed an apoc once. The rest of the time was spent watching all the 'An attempt to activate that module is underway' messages.
Still apart from that it was a good fight and nice to have a battle that lasts longer than 1 minute :)
Thanks for the giggles :) ==================== There is 10 types of people in this world... Those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

our cruiser/frig gang jumped in just after RZR/D2/RAWR-gang jumped into the camp.. i think almost everyone in our gang emergencywarped before loading.
after we got back together we warped around planets killing some outbreak/tcf ppl that warped out from the gatefight. lag was horrible at first tho, some hostiles warped in to the planet we were at, 25km from our tacklers and warped back out before anyone had a chance to get a module activated and interdictor pilot dropped bubble right on them but it appeared 30km away ___

Welcome to the wonderful world of delayed resource-allocation and advanced load balancing, where you have to load the system heavily for at least a week before you can expect to have a decent fight there. -----

i think i was 1 of the semi-lucky ones.
i saw the gang that warped in from inside OE- and got attacked by invisible people after that but somehow i only had 10 sec lag when i selected warp so i actually made it out and had to make a nice detour to get my ship out in 1 piece.
branch was nice and quiet after dt

Hey,
LoL nice try fix and tcf. I bet ex-fixes could taste redemption for that egg they had loss.Well this was an example of what you CAN do in this type of situation. We did not expect to get into the predicament we did that is for sure. However the way we got it handled and the fact outpost is sitting pretty speaks volumes. Thanks to our allies and alliance mates for the late hours and dedication when it counted.
Seems to be the person holding gates were lagged the most when they were jumped in on. First battle and second battle a very one sided. One for both sides.. not hard to figure out why tbh.Anyways thanks to all for your efforts and engagements.I thought we would see more trys and pokes at the system and egg , but there was no major attempts.GJ rzr

Edited by: Heptameron on 04/09/2006 17:53:59 I have to agree the lag was probably some of the worst i've seen. The initial attack by outbreak was better, but odds were not in our favor, the engagement was short and sweet and we took the heaviest losses. The second engagement was lag beyond belief! I go all the way back to JQA days and the Supremacy invasion with 300+ in VV-VCR and the lag wasn't half as bad as it is currently. I died without activating a module, without firing a shot in anger and not even knowing I had died, just appearing at a spot in my egg after 20 minutes of inactivity and waiting.
@CCP, you have created quite possibly the best MMORPG ever to hit the internet. It could easily be played for 10 years or more. You have created a game where fleet combat is the bottom line to regional dominance. BUT! You have also created a monster which is starting to lose control in the lagfest which invariably takes over even medium sized engagements. This is not a personal threat on my part, i'm too old for that, but be warned... people are leaving the game because of the inability to use properly the mechanics YOU have created. This will continue, and at some point a competitor will arrive on the scene that can and will compete on an even level with you guys but will not have the same performance problems. And then your player base will start to dwindle. Last night was awesome, but you could have multiplied that 'awesomeness' by a factor of 10 if it was a playable scenario rather than a 'click, click' then wait and hope someone is dying and it's not you.
Before I forget a HUGE thanks has to go to all of our northern allies that rallied to the call and of course our old friends Blades and Mordus Angels for coming to help out so damn fast! You guys are awesome and it's always a pleasure to be flying alongside you all. ---------------------------------------------- We can't all be heroes, because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by |

I was there for the second battle in OE-, it was a big fight with a lot of ships. I believe the D2 razor rawr side had more ships. our fleet commanders did amazing work. We went after outbreak first I believe, we did win this fight by a good margin and made the enemy warp away with their remaining forces.
Lag for me was ok, but I did hear alot of people complaining about lag, I was one of the fortunate ones it seems. On a side note our egg is safe, good job to my fellow pilots and allies for pulling together and keeping the egg warm.

You are a funny guy TCF came in halfway through the first fight. The first fight started at 21.24. TCF scored their first BS mail 21.27 and the last RZR lossmail was at 21.30. Fair enough.
We were vastly outnumbered at the first fight. And we kept coming. When you were vastly outnumbered you just left. Poor show from outbreak tbh. From hearing about your incursions into BOB space we thought this was gonna one hell of an allnighter but it didn't happen. You guys just logged and/or left.
The best part though is that Marko dude. Convo'ing me and being totally silly. The convo went from pay us -> To fight us -> You damn blobbers -> logging off. Hipocracy ftw?!
Oh and a huge public thank you to IRON/RAWR/D2. Thank **** it was finally your time to help us

Dude, let's leave the numbers game out of it? You started with more than 3 times our gang thanks to a lightning all out incursion. We just happen to have a bucket load of friends and allies prepared to drop whatever they were doing to come help.
All in all some good points from both sides, only real negative was server performance. ---------------------------------------------- We can't all be heroes, because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by |
