I downloaded the patch but it gets stuck at the acquiring bulk data stage. Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?
Thanks

Go to your EVE folder, and delete everything in your CACHE folder bar /Settings/ and prefs.ini. If you're still having problems, rename your cache folder to cachebackup and run the game again. Corp: www.ravenwarriors.com |

I did try this
"Go to your EVE folder, and delete everything in your CACHE folder bar /Settings/ and prefs.ini. If you're still having problems, rename your cache folder to cachebackup and run the game again." I also reinstall the game but it is not working.

I keep hearing everybody say that by deleting your cache folder that it should fix this connection problem...but i havent been able to go on for 5 days...me and friend have been mulling over this for that time...and have yet to come up with a viable answer...we were told to delete cache..that didnt work...we were told to reinstall client..that didnt work either...so finally we came up with the brillant idea of reinstalling the client but putting it into a new directory so that the install was fresh and couldnt be linked to already possible corrupt files..and lo and behold it worked...i actually got into the game..so we assumed we had fixed the problem...wrong...next day same problem...stuck on aquiring bulk data...we went through the entire process again..reinstall to different directory...delete cache...nothing works!!..what is this system like the borg! adapt as soon as you find a solution??..who knows...anyone have a different solution

I have the same problem. In fact the problem is quite random. If you try to connect enough time, sometimes it may work.
But for me it take usually 10 minutes of unsucessful trying to go on the game.

Have been having the same problem. Will try backing up the cache to see if that fixes it.

This worked for me: load the game as normal, when the window pops up for the patch, ctrl alt del and set the eve exe to a higher priority, click yes on the patch requester and after a small delay (1-5 mins) depending on your connection it downloads and installs ok. This worked for me, cannot promise on your machine.

Excellent, Noble One. Many thanks. There appears to be a problem in ExeFile.exe, such that it takes virtually 100% of CPU resources, giving the appearance of a screen freeze, for 30 seconds or longer (at least on my client). A shame it is driving people into so many other issues (manual patching problems, cache folder deletion, reinstalling Eve).
