Hi there,
i bought a brand new Vengeance yesterday and fitted it out, just wanted to share my layout with you. My first thoughts while test-ratting in 0.1 were impressive, so i wanted to know what you guys think about it, so here is the setup:
------------------------------
Hi: 3x medium pulse laser II + conflagration S Med: 1mn afterburner II j5b phased prototype warp inhibitor I barton reactor capacitor recharger I
Low: small armor repairer II n-type thermic hardener I 2x heat sink II
--------------------------------
pg and cpu are nearly on their max.
I got a dmg mod of 7.15 which is very impressive i think, i hit sansha phantasms mainly with 60-85 dmg, every few shots do 100-130 dmg and some do more then 200 (had one with 350 into the structure ).
The tank should be ok, resistances like this: EM 60% EXP 80% KIN 62% THERM 67% (with the hardener on, 43% without)
i dont know how long i can run all mods including repper, the sansha BCs do only dmg while i am aproaching, so i hadnt run the repper more than 2 cycles...
i want to use the Vengeance for 0.0 ratting while still being able to defend myself if any pirate wants some. i hadnt much time yesterday so i only tested it with 0.1 npcs as i said. will go 0.0 this night.
what do you think about this layout? is it worth to get into the 'ship setups index' sticky? ^^

Given the vengeance has a natural cap recharge bonus I'd be suprised if you had any major problems with cap unless you're being noss'd. You may even be able to sustain your setup without the cap recharger mod if you don't need to run the armour rep constantly.

Trying to figure out how you got a 350 wrecking on structure when the highest wrecking you can get with that setup is 321.75

I dont PvP. But I love a named cap booster where you have a cap recharger. NOTE: you arnt using your cargo hold for ammo. So relative to your size you can hold a ton of boosters. I prefer a cargo hold full of 100 booster but I buy 75 (alot cheaper to make) and eject them as rats drop 100s. If im in low sec I also keep a 75 blue print with me so if I find myself in low sec for long I just put up generous buys on minerals and make my own. Also note that most of the time you easily keep up with what you use by just getting those booster charges you leave floating in space normally...
Without ammo to worry about you can boost for something like 7 minutes straight at 100 per a boost longer if you use smaller charges shorter if you use a good booster. And while you are boosting you are one bad ass frigate...
My current ship was HIGH:2xMedium Pulse Laser II 1xDual Modulated Pulse Energy Beam MID: Afterburner II, Small Tapered Cap Infuser, extra slot--currently a webber I needed. LOW: 3x Rat Specific Passive Hardeners 1xSmall Armor Rep II
Note just because a ship has innate resist doesnt make your first hardener less efficient. The first one of each type still blocks the same ~percentage~ of incoming damage as it would on a ship without innate resist. So I toy with them. I can see damage mods though. And currently I had n-types of thermic, reactive, and magnet and thats really not best I was just being a free spirit and didnt want to change them as I flew around. Better prolly is two with one damage mod. or even your two damage mods whatever. I make no claims on how to do the low slots (I didnt train up for energized adaptive IIs yet so thats not even on my options)
Mainly posting to say test the cap booster! With no ammo in your cargo you have room for charges and its a pretty nice module with rats dropping so many boosters nowadays!

maybe you can swap the ven for a retri if your aim is ratting , pls note that confragr S tend to vaporize in a short time... 3 small pulses sometimes are not enought for bigger rats , and you will miss also another low slot for tanking the 5 bc spawn (angels one)

thx for your opinion.
the retri is really great, but i hate the solo med slot if a pirate wants to play tom&jerry with me i want to be able to scramble him, just for the case he is alone and my ship/setup is better then his one... your totally right right on the conflags, maybe i will use multifrequencys instead and carry some conflags with me for the nasty pirates anyways im ratting mainly sanshas so there is no problem with only 3 guns, i can kill sansha BS in my punisher with only 3 dual light pulses in and one hs2, but the fight lasts 5-10mins

Vengeance is not a good damage dealer. Thus I would advise to use the last slot for your missile launcher or rocket launcher too. Being able to choose dmg type makes a nice difference and adds nice dmg.

if you hunt sanshas your set up is ok , imho if you want to boost the pvp side of the ven just swap the rech for a webby , so you can dictate the range also with ab , with af skill at 4 the ven has a very nice cap regeneration by itself
