I think if you got more servers up and running with faster processors and the highest RAM you would have fewer problems with crashes and the such. Then a person would be able to copy more than five bookmarks at a time. It would support more players with alot less lag too. Give some of that money you guys get from all of use EVE members and put it back into the business. That's the only true way to make this a success. Just running a skeleton crew and sticking as much profit in your pocket as possible with no consideration for your customers is not the way to go. I started this game in 9/11/05 and it has been down at least 2 months total during that time. How about a little reimbursement? Maybe a couple months free for all these loyal EVE members, huh? Of course I don't expect to hear anything on that. Enough said, Wraith out.

CCP's server cluster is among the most powerfull in the world.. yes thats right, IN THA WORLD
I think they will be pressed pretty hard to get anything better, unless you're willing to take on cutting edge which is alos subject to instability.

CCP update the servers when it's needed, and I am pretty sure they did a major upgrade not long ago, also think about how many BM's are on the database, last I heard was about 500k or so. This may or may not be true though.
They also release "Free" content updates on a regular basis and continue to fix problems as they become aware of them. I started EVE last year as well and there used to be 5000 people online, now they get 30,000. So I am sure the team is working on fixing the crashes, which don't seem to affect me at all.
They have in the past given users "free" days to make up for DT that wasn't meant to be as well. And 2 months DT in that time, you must be counting the DT every night which is for maintance. ----------

Better just improve the debugging and pinpointing of problems in the code than adding machinery. Every piece of hardware and every server in the cluster, has it's own probability of failing, adding too much of it will make it sure that at least one part of eve is failing at any given time.
Code optimization and bug fixing is the only way of decreasing the probability of failure, not adding hardware...

An increase from 4000+ people to 30,000+ accounts in just over a year? I think that's a pretty big success really. And if you want them to give you your money back for Downtime then perhaps you'd like them to stop maintaining the servers and leave them running constantly. Then see how server stability goes without maintenance. Thats part of CCPs job too and they have to get paid for it. If they didn't care about the customers then they wouldn't have maintenace in the first place. =================================================

ok, you clearly don't know what you are talking about. The reason I'm sayin this is the following:
Every Computer Company that has customers also have Scheduled DownTimes, in this case CCCP has a daily DT(downtime)
What we all don't like is the fact that they are doing such a lousy job that causes "UnScHeDuLeD DoWnTiMeS", there's a huge difference between scheduled and unscheduled. The unscheduled DT's are what ****eS everybody off. If THE COMPANY that i work for was doing bussiness the way CCCP is doing it, we WOULD ALL be fired nad replaced with another.
If you have a increase in the usage, you have to plan, budget, purchase and replace hardware to accomodate the growth. I would dare to say that THEY HAVE the assetts with now over 30000 subscribers online and even CCCP has said that they now have over 100K subscribers. Don't you think that the money should be better used to hire coders that write a better code , or more skilled databaseadmins, not those so called Windows Technicians. IF I had somebody running around calling himself a Certified Windows Technician this and that and doing the job they obviously are doing with the lousy patched and DT's the last QUARTER, I would tell them to get another job,go and wash windows instead or whatever.
But, who aM I to suggest these things, I'm merely a subscriber paying their salaries.
Whine, whine, whine. Who cares in a hundred years.

Well, since you obviously know how things are supposed to run and that is such an easy job to do, then why havn't you presented them with the correct code and solutions?
