Well, I just spent the last few hours or so copying one the last few sets of bookmarks out of our corp hangar and a realization struck me, this is going to be increasingly difficult to do in the future.
What effects do you think the Bookmark Nerf will have on 0.0 space control and general occupancy?
I dont doubt that most current occupiers of space who are fully entrenched will not be affected much. How will affect new alliances and corps attempting to push into 0.0 and outfit their members with bookmarks?

What are you talking about? I copied 528 bookmarks in less time!
The way to do it is to copy 5, then just keep dragging them over. You don't need to wait for them to load. Once this gets spread around, it won't have any effect at all.

I think any pilot with bookmarks is better equiped than a pilot without bookmarks and has a greater chance of success. Now if all had bms or all didn't have bms, thinks would be different.
IMHO any entity with low bm resources will have a heck of a hard time pushing against a 0.0 entity that allready has bms of that area. Chockepoint will get a new face of destruction for those that have no bms but fulishly jump in, to try and push out the present authority.
Also the element of surprise will not exist anymore, not that it is much these days, but any new entityt, specialy newer pilots, will deconspire themselves wghile trying to get bms.
Making bms hard to get is just not fare, as those that have them already have a clear advantage against those that have trouble in getting them.
A true solution and fare solution would be availability for all pilots or equal chances in getting them or lack of bms as a whole.
Cheers,

Yeah but you had to sit there and do it. Before you could just select all and drag. It took a long time but you didnt have to be at your computer while it did it. Thus although it took longer it was actually easier and less boring because you could do other stuff while the borning crap was being done by eve.
Now eve makes you do all the boring stuff.
It think this will actually add to the problem of getting people out of empire. It is just another annoyance that people may not want to deal with. Sitting there copying hundreds of bookmarks for several hours is not fun....games should be fun.
Also this is most likely going to lead to the creation of bm copying macros (i hear there may already be 1 or 2 out there). That will just make it easier for cheaters, which is never a good idea for a mmo.
CCP needs a solution the BM copying issue, but i do not think that this is a very good long term solution.

If that is really so fast now, then not much would change.. other people who are more active at the screen will take over the BM business, while others who cant adapt to sitting there to actually copy the sets, will retire.

This is not a solution, just a temporary 'bump', if you will, to slow down instas copying until they find replacement to instas. ------------------ Tired of fleet combat lag? -Post HERE

Perhaps a "warp to" affect based on age (SP level) at 5 mil you can warp to within 10k.........at 10 mil...to within 5 k.....and at 15 mil, to within jump range. Jump range only because who, in their right mind would smack a perfectly good ship into a jump gate.
Skills would lag the server more than current bookmarks. Even people like me who carry in the neighborhood of 10k bookmarks lag the server less than 100 people warping to gates in empire and the server doing skill calculations for each of them simultaneously.
Removing bookmarks entirely would completely screw up 0.0 players. Not like we get alot of love anyway but, CCP at least affords us this luxury...for now.
Perhaps a command ship module that is needed for each region. Command ships.....gangs......module to insta jump....hmmmmmmmm
Either way, there is no EASY way to fix the current situation. |

ItĘs not harder, itĘs just more boring. Now u has to select and drag bookmarks every 5 seconds. What is more important before patch you were able to copy bookmarks on multiple accounts which gives you advantage on fast copying, now is much harder switching from one to another account selecting and dragging. Maybe itĘs not hard when u have to copy one set, but when you get 10-20 orders daily, thatĘs boring.

Ppl will have one more excuse to copy or get copies of insta. Fleet operations will get slowed down because the guy with the insta for the region just went afk. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! Oveur is the root of all evil!\n" if m/podkill|lost my ship|gank|gate camp|Verone/;'

Lag is much better now!
Where it hardly existed before the change, you can encounter 15-30 seconds now. --*=*=*--
Even with nougat, you can have a perfect moment. |
