I'm so mad the buttons changed from amorphous blobs to clearly defined, sharp and modern icons. I'm unsubbing my 32,768 accounts.

Massive change just for the sake of change ? No, it's not just for the sake of change. Go back and read the dev blog.

I seriously doubt it hurts anyone's eyes. People are probably making it up because they think it means CCP will listen to them.

That guy who's claiming that the EVE player base as a whole must be really upset about the UI change isn't really taking into account the fact that people are always much more likely to voice their displeasure over a change than their approval.

Who the **** came up with the idea to stop chat tabs from blinking if the cursor touches them, however briefly? Do you realize how easy it is to accidentally mouse over a chat tab and completely miss that someone had said something?
It's also ******** that every chat tab stops blinking when you only click one of them. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Modal windows? CCP are you serious right now? How could you possibly think this was a good idea?
How could you be so bad at UI design for a video game that you think taking control away from players is important for a window that says that you don't have room for something in cargo?

Read the forum, many asked to add a light background window or RGB color selection. No need to remove the changes that have been made recently. It would be nice if the developers just added some color schemes, to make it comfortable to play all players. Asking them to add more color schemes is definitely a reasonable request, but if you haven't already done so you should be specific about what you want.

Many people said that - they will be happy to have a "switch" in options to opt-out from new UI back to old one. And I am one of them. I will be more than happy to get rid of this eye blinding crap. No, that's asking for something entirely different, and not so reasonable.
Do you realize just how much effort it would be to maintain two UIs instead of just one? More than it's worth, that's how much. It's not some boolean value you can flip and automagically give everyone what they want.

Or do you think everyone is on your side? How about we get our choice? Seems that s all we are asking for here. It is not a one size fits all type of game, never has been and never should be, it's all about options. No, because if they did this every time they made a change to the game, the client would be too bloated to play.

No, because if they did this every time they made a change to the game, the client would be too bloated to play. What I wrote to CCP in a ticket as well, and if they continue to ignore it I will keep writing them every week, is ONE SIMPLE REQUEST: Allow us to disable the focus tracking animations/change in luminosity / translucency, blurJust an option to keep the interface LOCKED in a fixed state ( no focus tracking, no animations, no blur, etc. ) ... so the brain can be focused on the things that are moving and you actually CARE about ... like ... enemy ... SHIPS. And yea, traders and other people who are clicking in the interface a lot, their eyes are getting tired really fast from all this blurry mess. I'm quite sure that would not bloat the client, isn't it ? p.s. - Ability to customize colors would be nice as well, yea. With the icons, as ugly as they are, we can live with... but it wouldn't hurt to be able to put a different CUSTOM background color on each of them! Sooooo many people would be please with just these very very simple changes to the interface. AH YES, one final thing, option to make OPAQUE NEOCOM PLEASE !
2nd p.s. - Even if all of us that do not like the new interface are a minority ( a quite large minority ), we are still CUSTOMERS. Customers which are totaling several thousand $ or Euro /month. I'm sure it would be wise for a business not to ignore that aspect ... at least try to make those customers less angry with small but significant improvements. http://xkcd.com/1172/

No response to email. No response to ticket. No response in the forum.
Is hard to decide if I have to renew my account, or if I have to save my money and do something else. Well either their are ignoring us deliberatly or the new "improved" updatecycle forces them into new stuff instead of optimizing the mess that Rhea is. I actually dont know which alternative is better... I mean whats the worth of all the shortly announced changes and improvements when the UI forces people into other games? I'm really starting to question the wisdom of the 6 week update cycle.. it doesn't look like it's giving them enough time to do things properly. For example, as much as I like the confessor, I'm quite disappointed by the lack of the other race counterparts. a problem that appears to be because of time constraints. I miss the "new expansion" feel of the old schedule, the new one largely brings all the issues with the content patches, however brings much fewer new things. Among the upcoming patch changes which the devs are focusing on now, are module tiericide, which I don't quite understand why needs to be done, and makes the names of the items boring. Newest suggestion, all the meta items between tech 1 and 2, will be "restrained" something The old names had a naming scheme which suggested they were non-standard improvements. "restrained" suggests that it's a gimped version of a better model. And an update on the exequror model, which... why? i remember the ugly ship poll, I dont remember the exequror being talked about as needing a new look, I think the DOMINIX was in the very top in ships people don't want to fly just because it's ugly.. what about that one? I don't know how other player groups are feeling, but most of my friends already quit playing. I didn't agree with them then, but this patch is starting to make me truly lose hope. The walking in stations cancellation thread got several responses, none of them were anything I was hoping to hear, but nonetheless, I was very happy, that at least someone cared enough to acknowledge that some people were not satisfied. It's starting to look like the time of responding to the community's concerns is over for CCP. It's all on to the next "great" adventure of fixing stuff that isn't broken.. It's as if you're completely unaware of what time of the year it is.

This thread started on 9th of December, and most of the comments about issues were during first week, not on 24th. Regardless, much of CCP went on vacation in the weeks preceding Christmas. They weren't all working up to the 24th.

They weren't all working up to the 24th. In this case, probably deploy a new version without the time to fix "eventual" issues, was not a good idea. It's either, they release an expansion and a bunch of people are mad that they don't get fixes to relatively minor bugs and issues for a few weeks, or they don't release an expansion and likely a bunch more people are mad that they don't get anything for several more weeks than they otherwise would have, including bug fixes that came with the release.

Some of these issues was discovered in SiSi. The Blackbird camera position, the removal of the customization of the UI, that some icons has an incorrect meaning, etc. It was released despite that. The real problem is that CCP give the impression that they speed up the release of new expansions, but still don't change their way of doing things. If the next expansion contain some of the asked corrections (RGB sliders or grey background themes for my case), then I will gladly admit that I was wrong. But until then, I don't still believe that they have changed, their past (and the growing list of broken features) don't help to give them trust as unless there was an uprising and that we burned Jita, they just reject any feedback. I would love seeing an expansion who nearly only correct broken things... But they don't just "reject any feedback". A lot of feedback was incorporated into changes they made to the UI from when it was first announced to when it was released on TQ.
