So I started my own corporation to deal with this nuisance/threat.
Introducting: The Anti-Macro Coalition
Quote: We are:
- Anti-Macro - Anti-ISK Farmer - Anti-Complex Farmer
The Anti-Macro Coalition was formed in the face of the growing threat of macro miners and ISK farmers. Who ruin this game by mining out asteroid belts all day or camping complexes to catch the profitable respawn.
The goals of the Anti-Macro Coalition are to give thise game back to the real players, not the ones who try to make a living selling ISK for RL cash.
We are looking for players at least 1 month old, and who have a burning desire to hunt down and eliminate every single last macro in this game.
* Macro is a blanket term that we use to describe these players be they actual computer controlled macro's, or one guy controlling 8 different computers.
I am looking for other like minded individuals who are also tired of seeing all the macro miners. Judging from all the "I hate macro miners" posts on these forums it seems that I am in good company.
I have done alot of ore theifing. And I know how to identify macro's. If you are afraid you might make a mistake and attack a real miner, I can teach you, and others how to identify these guys properly.
Make no mistake this is a pirate corp. I am not afraid of running suicide missions into these guys to take them out. The more time that they spend running around, buying new ships, or running away. Is more fustration for them, and less time spent mining.
So if you are currently without a corporation, come join me, lets build a corp of macro hunters. Lets take the law into our own hands.
My goal is to have a large corporation jointly attacking, and stealing ore from these macro's night after night. Lets get organized under one flag. And get some work done.

Edited by: Sakura Nihil on 07/09/2006 14:58:52 One way might be to out-mine the bastards, and deprive them (and your rivals :p) of resources to mine.
Either way, gl, kick some ass.
PS: Yes I am aware that this would take a hell of a lot of miners. Just a suggestion .

More stuff to add:
I am based in the general North America region (-6 GMT for me)
I am also looking to make friends with 0.0 corps, cause after a while of suiciding on these macro miners, I will need an area for me and my corpmates to get our concord security status back up by ratting and ratting and ratting. So if one of the corps out there doesnt mind me ratting in their space. Let me know.

My corporation is very relaxed, I dont expect people to be on between x and y times. And I dont powergame myself.
If you want to have fun stealing ore, and blowing up macro miners, and not feeling guilty, this is the corporation for you.
There are enough threads on these forums of people who complain and complain about macro miners, lets get together and do something about it.
Check out these complain and idea threads: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=395266 http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=395287 http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=395091 http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=394567
And plenty more threads abound after you use the search function.

hint u need 2 one man corps and a alt for this
corp a ) someone that can fly BS corp b) someone that can fly BS
use alt a to create corp a and alt b to create corp b have corp a war dec corp b
now have alt c in noob corp (have all 3 alts online at once) place a and b at neraby safespot have alt c find macro miners and ISK farmers issue gang invite (*they accept these usually but reject private convos)
alt c (noob corp) issues invite to macro miner (d) then gang warps to where a and b are after d accepts invite quickly invite a and b to gang while macroer is in warp
Now c and d arrive with a and b in gang a and b can freely attack each other and others in gang therefore technically being a free gank on macro miner d unless they leave gang quickly. use cruisers if not wanting to risk it there is a risk of conocrd but its legal use of ingame mechanics and a possible way to now deal with macro miners.
if d is smart and leaves gang then u will be concorded but if d is slow to respond u can quite easily just blow em up and maybe a podding

Just have tto give my thumbs up for this idea.
I myself run my own little crusade against them in any system I mine in. Just recently I was pretty much stealing this one macro miners ore from his three Barges. I simply used my Blocakade Runner tranpsort, outfitted with with an MWD. When entering the belt I apprach the barge..and hit the MWD. With a speed of 1619 m/s form 30KM or more away the bump sends the barge flying about 10km, and the can is mine. Then you simply transfer any leftovers to a can you make for pickup later. (just in case the macroer tries to pick it up)
If you feel real devious and the macroer is unatentive, simply not do the ramming and steal the ore. The macroer will keep mining it. Better a player gets the ore for free, instead of waiting to buy the isk off them in RL.
None of this lowers you sec status, meaning its a good way for non-pirates to rid themselves of macroers as well.
My goal is to see the whole game someday uprise against the macros. All it would take is a simple week or more of effort for players to stop shooting each other and head to high sec space to vape the macro miners or annoy them like this 24/7.
They are the ones who are making yoru ships cost more, they are the ones inflating the in-game currency. Do you want to eventually have to pay 1 milion or more, for a tech 1 frigate because you all forgot about this problem, or thought it wasn't your concern? Players won't stop buying it until the supply is gone.
How do you tel who's a macro miner? Look for barges and a hauler..all in the same Corp (usally an NPC one) that are around the same age of when they were created. They usually have one name or two short ones. They won't talk in local ever if proded, (unless it's some: I don't speak English excuse)
They stick to high sec space because they can get away scott free and never have war declared on them. Report them, steal from them...heck blow them up if you've got no problem with that. Just get rid of them. It's easier then you think, just requires some time and effort. |

Actually, the problem with the macros is that they depress prices by drastically increasing supply of raw materials. If you managed to eliminate them all, prices of everything would spike in the short term, before settling back down as more people jumped into mining as a profession...
While i am not a fan of macros, and will run them out of my systems whenever they appear, I am equally annoyed by people that think that everytime they see a barge and a hauler that its a macro op. I have 2 accounts that I use for mining. One toon is in a barge, the other in a hauler that is generally parked right next to the barge grabbing ore from the jet can. On more than one occasion some over zealous anti-macro person has tried to steal my ore, bump my ships or what not. Frequently, they don't even bother to convo me first, and if I try and convo them they usually block me.
The moral of the story is this... Don't let your anti-macro campaign turn into an anti-miner one. |

Whoa, dude. You just described me and my friends, and we aren't macro-miners. There are six of us, we all started about the same time and are in the same corp (corp. we started, not an NPC corp), four of us have barges and the other two drive haulers and we generally mine together. We're just mining for a living the way that someone's (excellent) guide to mining on these forums suggested.
If you steal from us, you'll be stealing from noobs with no PvP skills, but that's about all. Likely as not you're going to end up with exactly 1 unit of ore for your trouble too. We've been stolen from enough already that we don't transfer ore from the barges to the cans unless a hauler is on station to immediately take it back out again.
Good luck with your venture, but even with my limited understanding of the game as it sits today, it's not too hard to predict that in three months you're probably going to be bored, poor, and looking for something else to do.
