As it stands right now the only way to observe the damage to a T2 mining crystal is to undock, load it into your mining laser and hover over the icon. If you have multiple identical crystals in your cargo bay it would be extremely helpful to have a way to identify the damaged crystals so as to remove them from use. It is also annoying that when loading a mining crystal the most damaged crystal loads first.
Furthermore, even when in station the mining crystals all look identical when a damaged mining crystal should be easily visible. A simple solution would be to introduce a line in the show info category that currently states the damage to the crystal. Of course this would have to update as damage occurs - and the show info category seems to be static information.
Other suggestions for a way to view damaged mining crystals in station or in your cargo bay? |

Other suggestions for a way to view damaged mining crystals in station or in your cargo bay? Repackage them all and stack them. You cannot repackage damaged crystals so they will remain unpackaged and the rest will appear in a single stack.
Why is it annoying to load the most damaged one first and why do you want to remove them from use? Don't you want to use up the most damaged ones first?

I used to reprocess crystals for the few isogen units they would yield. In THAT circumstance, it would be nice to know when to stop using one and to reprocess it before it poofed, but, that's nothing that can't be seen with a simple mouse-over, occasionally. |

Isn't that a little on the obsessive side? Isn't the few thousands worth of materials from reprocessing a fraction of a percent of the millions of ISK worth of ore the crystal mines over its lifetime?
But kudos to you on optimizing your efficiency to that degree.

I do the same if I notice.. when they are down to around 1% or 2% left.

Laser crystals have the same problem. However the most annoying part is when you have differently damaged laser crystals loaded and one of them breaks. If your guns are grouped they will all just stop firing and not auto reload the empty laser. You also can't just right click the grouped lasers to reload, because it won' let you reload the crystal type that is still in the remaining lasers. You first have to reload a different type of crystal and THEN you can reload the type you wanted originally. If you are unlucky a few shots after that the next crystal breaks and you have to do the same thing again. |
