I dont know if this has been asked before (most likely) but id like to know which dread has the best dps and which has the highest tanking ability. As far as shield goes im sure the phoenix is the one, but gallente/amar and perhaps minmatar do armor. If someone knows the exact numbers/potential of the ships plz post.

The moros is great cuz of the drones Infact if you have your Dread skill trained to a high lvl you can use sentry drones as a extra gun with some amazing damage output.
Best Dread vs Dread = Phoenix
Best Dread vs Smaller targets = Moros
Best Dread vs long POS sieges = Revelation (Cuz ammo wont run out )

all the tanks are pretty comparable, phoenix and revelation come out on top i think, i think a moros with maxxed skills and drones is like, 1900, naglfar and revelation are like 1300 and phoenix is like 1000?

Cool thx, that was very helpfull. Any clue as to how well does the Naglfar fare vs the other dreads in pvp? And i know they have crap tracking while in siege, but w some tacklers (web/painters) would the dread instapop some battleships?

Normal pvp isnt for a dread but the Famous Pirate Skywalker gate camps in a Naglfar, he has a vid of it too, convo him, he will most likely give ya a link for it

The alpha on citadels sucks without at least 3 target painter II's and, of course, a couple webs.
EDIT: Unless it's against another capital ship, then you don't need any target painters and just one web.

True. My corpmate has a fraps of my phoenix wtfpwning a freighter in lowsec. It was fun watching half of his structure disappear in one volley.

LOL dude thats mean. Thats like slamming a sledge hammer on an egg. granted freighters have high hp/def but its defenseless. Poor guy must have been freaked out lol.

Got one question. Which dread : Naglfar or Phoenix would do the following tasks :
Killing POS
Killing Cap ships
Killing BS's (with support of course)
Plz don't take ammo cost into consideration.

The problem is not tracking/speed really but locking time, a 100 BS fleet can warp in pop a dread and warp out before any dread can lock a BS.

id put the moros at bottom tbh
caldari one can have the best tank by far, if ur willing to spend billions on kitting it
the amarr one can do the most real DPS [not taking resistances into account]
the mini one can pick any dmg type with its missiles which helps total DPS at the end, also it is pretty good for cap since its weapons use no cap to fire
the galante one does not have much at all, sure its got drones, but sentry drones are limited to the 50 odd km and the heavy t2 drones dont do that much dps. less than a normal BS. on top of that, its got the worst cap probs imo. and cant use blasters for dmg

naglfar can dish allot of firepower and ship can tank in any way you want to.
revelation is a laser boat that doesn't require ammo. 'nuff said.
phoenix has great alpha and great shield tank.
moros has a good dronebay and is the one that requires less of a support fleet (moros bonuses + T2 warriors = wtfpwn frigates)

naglfar can actually tank better then the revelation cuz it doesn't need cap mods to sustain its weapons, and it has the most weapons of any dread

Two dreads fitted for combat shooting each other only ends up in stalemate.
Oh and moros is what I'd call the best supporter for sieges due to it's drones.
Now if only those sentry drones moved like 10m/sec as they constantly end up out of scoop range

Wouldn't you just LOVE to have 3 of those nearly-impossible-to-comprehend -75% invul fields on your Phoenix ? ;)
That, and full lowslot PDUs, and in mids, well, you guesed it, DUAL (or TRIPLE) capital shield boosters plus meh some cap recharger IIs if really needed :P

Although Pheonix has probably the best tank, the problem I see with it is that as its a shield tank you cant just switch it on and leave it running fulltime.
With the lag involved in 99% of all POS engagements that "can" lead to being unable to switch the booster on, or off and drain its cap.
Personaly think Moros is one of the most important dreads, any cap fleet engaging a POS needs a Moros, but the others are all interchangable in my mind, only the moros is the one I see as being pretty much 100% needed due to its support from drones.

Edit - also according to the link posted above Moros with blasters and garde has the highest DPS of all the dreads as well.
1: how does the moros drones help the gang when it takes > 60sec to lock a BS and more to lock anything else?
2: join ASCN and use their amarr titan to give u 2 inbuilt cap recharger t2s :) , that should definitly help any dred tank much better, might even give the caldari one a constant booster
3: the blaster moros cant be used VS any POS, it fights in falloff and thus u miss a lot, fighting a large pos will mean ur blasters are missing about half the time!
