Ok, I got this yesterday from M$ and decided it might be a good thing to install it and start getting used to Vista.
The problem I have is that EVE does not run under RC1. I searched the EVE Forums for the old Beta2 work arround. I found it, and to my amazement It had the work arround allready in the Registery.
Is there any of you clever guys out there that can assist?

tried in compatibility mode? (if that's still in there)
i will be testing over next few days i think so i'll post how i go. |

All you need to do is to click yes on the Direct X pop-up. It doesn't detect DX9 and therefore you get the error despite teh fact that it is running DX10. This has been the case for all prior beta builds that I have been testing and continues into the RC1 build as well. This is something that will need to be changed on the Eve client itself, and hopefully once Vista is RTM the proper DirectX dectection will be inplace.

When DX10 is actually released, CCP will further develop their gfx upgrade, aswell as landscape combat, which was seen at last years FanFest.

btw RC1 rocks! looking great now (after a few betas it was looking ghastly).
Also im finding it much faster at installing, opening and running aps then XP even on an older machine with all the graphics tweaks on! |

I have been running eve under Vista since Beta 2 ...
... and am running it now under RC 1.
Except for the DirectxBox it runs fine :-)

vista is most likely delayed in europe thanks to the EEC
(stil dont approve of the fact MS left some of its own software in there (the pdf stuff))
