I joined a very small corp about six months ago. Shortly after joining, the other members just disappeared. No messages; nothing since I joined.
Do I have an option to become CEO of the Corp? I recall an earlier post about this type of situation, but can't find it. If I remember responses to that post, a petition could be sent to CCP to do so. Is that correct? If I do become CEO, what becomes of the Corp assets? I have no idea what they are since no one told me, but I do know I'm still paying 7% tax on some of my activities.

Just send a petition about it and a GM will sort it out. Or just leave if there aren't any assets. I assume you would be made CEO and have all roles to access any corp assets. |

3 ways:
1) if you have any shares call for a vote to replace the ceo. any share holder can do this at any time.
2) contact the ceo if you have an outside e-mail. see if he/she will give you the corp. In addition drop him/her an eve-mail, they could be logging in when your not around and you may not have the roles to see this.
3) file a petition, explain politely to the gm's the situation. if the ceo has been unsubbed for a certin time they will most likely assist. but don't quote me.
and
4) leave the corp and make your own.
if it has no assets its typically easier to just start your own corp then to take over a dead one. but if you like the name.. shrugs

I have no shares. No mention of such when I joined.
CEO is not responding. No one is responding.
There was a POS. Probably long gone.

lol They begged me to join for over a month! Once I did, within a week everyone (probably 3 plus a couple of alts) were gone.

When the current CEO leaves the corporation, then they must select a successor. So I take it the current CEO is still in the corporation, in which case there is nothing you can do unless you have shares as mentioned above.

GMs will not replace a CEO except under very strict conditions. One of them is if a "Replace CEO" shareholder vote is unable to obtain at least a 5% voting record.
Straight-up, don't bother. Its not worth the time.

Make a new corp, but give it a misleading name.
If your goal is to provide secure transport, something like "Wormhole Death Squad" works better, as it will confuse people that might think "haulers, great, these are harmless prey"

Glorious Revolutionary Forces of Highsec? Cause the name 'Gankers R Us' was too blatant, or was it taken? I'm going to go for taken.

I do recall that thread too.
And I do also recall the answer of the GM on the same question:
They do not intervene and you only have the normal options to become CEO.
So I would just leave the corp and for the next one do some good research what you join. As a corp that small amd that dies off that quickly should already have had the doomsday signs hanging around them.

No. You can't take it over. You're eternally at the mercy of a digital ghost. If you try to vote it out, it'll always make the vote a tie!
Treason never prospers. What is the reason? Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."
