Fellow pilots,
in case you own a Oculus Rift DK2 you can now explore the Eve galaxy of New Eden in VR. I have developed the Eve Galaxy Viewer - a limited VR version of the Eve Online star map which I like to share with you.
You can download the demo from the link below. Feedback is highly appreciated.

Newest version and info can now be found on a dedicated website.
Application has now been submitted to share.oculus.com. I'll let you know as soon as it is available on their website.

Gents,
my apologies. These screeshots were taken directly from the rift screen and therefore have a lot of distortion. The newer screenshots have been produced differently and are much clearer. Please see my website for the new screenshots.

just an FYI you might want to contact ccp about doing this and verify that they don't have an issue. Its always better to protect your ass then deal with lawyers.
I don't have a rift but it sounds cool nonetheless

thanks for the input. I so far assumed it should be ok, since my application does in principle the same think like dotlan or map.eveeye.com. But I will ask CCP just to be sure. |

Assumption is the mother of all ****-ups.
And also assumption doesn't hold out that long in court in relation to copyright breaking etc.

I tried OR a couple years back at Eve Fest playing the shoot up game, it works well but a few people say anything more than 20-30 mins people started to feel ill with motion sickness.
Must admit when i played the one game it was good but i could imagine doing a lot of lopps etc would make people be queezy :) |
