Sold 3 plex for the price of one. Game didn't display confirmation, i think it's supposed to :) GM told me to suck it up because it's as intended. |

I see this happen all of the time on the market, to varying degrees. Often, I'll see players list a sell order that was meant to be a buy order. They make for excellent deals. |

Back in mid November I would consistently have an issue where I wanted to post a sell order but the game would misread the entry of the number and decimal. XXX.XX would go in as XXXXX. And I could re-enter the price with the same thing happening so I know it was not a matter of me typo-ing.
I never got the price warning pop up so i figured it had been removed until I modified an order by .20 and it popped up claiming that my price was 90% below average price. I never knew you could get reimbursed for brokers fees. I wonder if its too late to claw back the near 500 million hit I took when I put a stack of isogen up for 13280. |

Artemis Scat wrote:Im going to go ahead and point out that you would have had to miss 3 digits in order to sell for that much under the original price. 1 digit could be just a mistype. 3 is just negligence on your part to look at the value you were selling for. Don't be so hasty next time and don't try to blame it on the game.
Yeah I triple check every number on every contract I make. Hell I triple check them on normal market sell orders as well... Expect to be scammed and assume your own fingers are trying to scam you as well. Treasonous lot them. I'd have them removed if I didn't need them. |

I bought 13 plex for 1000th of what they were worth once... I've sold dozens of 800 million isk (million) expanded cargoholds..... .. and many other silly things.
I learned about that from paying 600 million for a carghold once . (by a regional buy order I had sitting for a long time in 0.0) I've certainly sold things worth 10s of millions for less....
... I'm not really sure I like the dynamic but its been part of the game.
You play poker you bluff without worrying that bluffing is lying to a friend.... ... maybe it's a lame game mechanic making people miss zero's ... but sneakyness is definitely part of the game.... as are cons and grifts etc.
It's not like I acted like a real person and said "trust me fellow player" ... it was all in character via the market mechanism.
If someone takes the time to write me I'll often give them 1/3rd of their mistake back.. maybe more if they truly seem like a player who can't afford the loss and is starting in the game.

Been there, done that to the tune of 2.5b. Now I copy/paste from my web pages like a pro. Pretty bad that the alert box is broken, though. Mind you, it DID pop up when I screwed up and I just ignored it.
OP, you should earn more for that amount of grinding. Have you considered trading?

Steve Atreides wrote:Ok, had a look but couldnt find anything on this. Recently spent six weeks on and off grinding SOE missions for a Nestor which I built myself from BPC, took it for a little test run to see if I liked or would be likely to use it and decided to sell (was my original intent).
The regional Sell orders were from 1.3 billion upwards and Buy orders around 800 million. My eyes played tricks on me, I put in a sell order and thought I typed 1.29 Billion but missed a digit and without any warning the item disappeared for 1.29 million
I petitioned asking where was the normal market warning when placing sell orders under 50% and was told that is only for multiple items and not single items. now hang on, there is a warning if I sell two or more 100k isk items that I may be underselling but if I sell a 1.3 billion ship for 1.29 million there is no warning and the item is gone foroever.
To me this is clearly a broken game mechanic and needs to be fixed. I know someone else did the same thing with a carrier.
Anyway, fed up with this and the waste of 6 weeks of my time and both my subs have been cancelled. Would be nice to fix something so elementary...unless CCP, hugely underselling big ticket items by mistake is a intended game play mechanic and seen as a result for the person that gets the low value order.
Well the result is Minus my -ú240 a year. Cogratulations.
You WILL have setbacks in Eve, that's lif... ehm, eve. Its the same as holding onto the grenade too long in Battlefield and getting blown up, only instead of being punished by a 15 respawn timer, you have real consequences. That's what makes Eve exciting, in a moments bad judgement you can lose trillions (like warping/jumping a Titan somewhere and then it ending up in a huge battle). That's why your heart races in warp to a PVP fight. But I guess you have only ever done the PVE aspect of eve? |
