same problem. but i have found why. the cpu of my pc work in the game with 100% (cpu killer game) and my pc was to hot after a time, so the secure of my motherboard starts my system new.

If your machines rebooting when playing EVE, you need to find a better cooling solution, EVE is a very CPU intense game, if your machine cannot support 100% CPU usage for long - sustained periods of time, then you need better cooling. _________________________ Corp: www.ravenwarriors.com Cache Clearer |

Might I suggest you using another program that requires ".NET framework 2.0" and see if the same problem happens.
Basically somethings crashing when you log out and I expect it's .NET as mine is currently crashing on exit quite often (but my pc doesnt restart).
I have spoken to others who dont confirm the same problem and I have yet to confirm it's .NET but I havent takena huge look ;).
Make sure your computer isnt set to restart on errors and I suspect you'll get a memory error on eve exit (that's .NET framework 2 related)

your kidding right? heat issue? hmm well what i am seeing is not even 100% useage on my system and not very much heat coming off the cpu. so what else could it be?
reset on error? how would i check that? no other game is doing this to my system if they give me an error.

I'll assure you graphic card overheating and any other overheating that may occur (anything part of or connected to the computer mobo) can cause rebooting. Woe to the days when playing BF2 used to reboot my computer after an hour of gameplay, a few fans stuck in there and not a problem since. You may not notice the heat but those components are very sketchy when it comes to heating up, try poppin the side off yer chassis and aiming a small fan at it and see if you can still recreate the error...cos it may no just be your CPU

I assure you its not a heat issue my monitores show that all components never get abouve 45c I am starting to think its some error cousing this but cant seem to capture the event.
right before i get the system reboot i get a repeating sound loop in the game. and the time frame of reboots are not the same, some times i get 2 min of play others i get at least 30 min of play

Right click My Computer->Properties->Advanced Tab->Settings button under Startup and Recover->Uncheck the option 'Automatically Restart.'
The next time you quit, you should get a blue screen before the system restars. Copy down the STOP: 0x0000000D1 (similiar to that) error. Plug in the 0x000000D1 error into Microsoft's Knowledgebase and look for an article that sounds familier to your symptoms.
If the system only reboots, crashes, etc. during a certain trigger you can reproduce (quitting the game), then it isn't a heat issue.

I have recently had a similar experience. However, in my case it was due to my having slightly 'overclocked' my PC. Admittedly, it was done four months earlier and had given me no problems until recently. Once I reset my clock back to normal, my PC reset stopped.
I don't know if this will help, but I hope so.

Do not be so sure. 45c may still be too hot for your hardware, and not all components are monitored. My old machine had symptoms similar to yours and it turned out it was the northbridge that was overheating because the manufacturer did not put a fan on it. All other readings were fine but that chip wasn't monitored and when it got too hot, bad things happened.
Do as the other poster said and disable the automatic restart on error. If you then get blue screens of death instead of reboots, then it could be a driver problem. If not, then it is either a power supply or heating problem. To check out if it is a heating problem, open the side of your case and point a house fan at it blowing tons of cool air at the motherboard. Also crank up the air conditioning. Go nuts with cooling and if it eliminates the reboots, then you have found the culprit.
With my old system adjusting the thermostat by just one degree would make the difference between crashing, and not crashing. Also some games ran fine because each stresses the system in a slightly different way, so don't think just because some games work it means your hardware is fine.

I have started the 14 day trial and after 5mins my system crashes and the computer shuts down, when i start it up again windows does not even register an error. I can play BF2 on my system with no problems, and EVE works fine on my mates 'less spec' computer. What is going on? i have cpu fan gpu fan and fan on the side panel i really doubt it is overheating, especially if i can handle BF2 and my mates comp can handle it.

I too had a Complete restart yesterday. I was in a mission and my PC just restarted, no errors what so ever.
My CPU was at 47 Degrees C and my GPU was at 51. Both well within safe temperatures. My hard drives were at 35 C and my memory was at 37C also within safe temperatures.
System Specs, AMD Barton 2500+ 796MB Ram (1x512 and 1x256mb) 80GB hdd and 120GB hdd ATi Radion X800 Pro VIVO 256mb

do as suggested abouve with the restart on error
if you get a blue screen, check your drivers.
i did that last night and "knock on wood" it seems to have worked. except for during the game for some reason i noticed a few wierd things. i would get stuck warping, i would be in warp but not going any were. the other thing would be the game would minamize its self
but at least now it does not reboot.

Try disabling sound in EvE client. It might help. Alternatively, try to remove/uninstall .NET framework for your ATI utility.

Trust me, it's overheating. Or possibly a power supply problem, but most likely overheating. If you can, try underclockign your cpu and video card, and open the case and point a house fan at it. Also try running memtest86 for an hour or two and make sure that checks out.

you said the same about my problim, no offence man, but he should check his drivers like i did. both my sound and video needed updates. once i fixed that the problim whent away. like i said to you before about heat, i know what is in my system heat wise, i have my own sensors in there not the systems. i just forgot to look at my drivers.
so my advice before opening up your system and adding a house fan, check your drivers.

Were you getting blue screens of death or just hard reboots with no error? If it was the latter then it isn't a driver problem, though it is possible that changing drivers might temporarily relieve the problem due to the different drivers causing the load on the hardware to shift slightly. That doesn't mean the real problem wasn't overheating and more cooling wouldn't have fixed it.
If you were getting blue screens of death just before the reboot, then yea.. that's a driver crashing...
