know scord can get super huge.
can omber get this large to?
like if you mined everything but omber for a month, would they keep growing?
or eventually stop once they get so big

Roid respawn is still inbalanced atm.
If a particulair roid field would contain equal amounts of omber, scordite, veldspar etc. It is obvious the Omber and high rank roids would be mined first. The omber roids would respawn and grow but it's mass cannot pass the roid fields maximum mass.
Therefore, when Omber is mined the other lower value roids will grow and fill in the place which the Omber used to fill. Once reached at its max, the omber roid cannot either respawn or grow bigger.
Hence you see 100km scordite or Veldspar roids, with no high value roids surrounding it. Esspecially in high secure areas.

I'm currently performing the first "Roid FarmÖ" experiment and will keep you all posted as to how I get on

I'm not so sure it's so cut and dry as that, I've found a system (yes, system, not belt) with ~9 20k omber roids per belt, the scord is there in the standard ridiculous amounts but im pretty sure all the ores in this system have been relatively untouched.

Doesn't seem that cut and dry, initial results show that instead of the other roids growing to fill space, new roids are generated as well.
This means that there is now more scordite and veld to become Mega RoidsÖ although there are some new omber plag and pyro roids.
Yes the existing roids are growing. But the Scordite and Veld are doing so much quicker than the others.
Will be checking in after server down time if I can take my lunch break at the right time, and will post my new findings, but I expect that it would probably take about 3-4 crusiers kitted for mining to successfully Roid FarmÖ, but I do belive it is possible.

yes omber can get super huge too an average size is about 100 and up to about 140 but ive seen a super huge one *tat will be kept secret* that had a size of 401.24
