I blame TV and all those Rambo and Gladiator style movies. In real life even the best solo "gladiator" tended to do poorly aka die when outnumbered by as few as 2 simple badly trained conscript soldiers with pointy sticks lol.

Nah its Deathmatch FPS and LOL style gaming where teams are even and access to weapons is "fair". The antithesis of survival. Or, you know, chess, tennis, or any other competitive endeavor that our society actually places value on because they are measures of acute skill, talent, and training, instead of a mere willingness to throw an inordinate amount of time at assembling a gang in an online game.
EVE is simulating a futuristic high tech (but still virtual) world in a perpetual state of war, not a sport. Nothing wrong with solo pvp but the game is balanced along the lines of 'more is always better', like actual real life and unlike sports. That's what some of us like about the game, the 'fair' fight is the one where you live and the other guy dies.

You have it backwards. NO ONE chest thumps louder than 'solo' PVPrs (in this game or any game). I mean, some of them are so full of themselves because of their prowess in making other people's ships explode they make this guy look like he's not an arrogant jerk who hogs the ball (lol). The truth is, nothing any of us does in a video game amounts to a hill of beans and everyone knows that...execpt some solo pvprs...and Kobe Bryant

I know I'm not the 1st person to interact with 'leet solo pvp'rs in game and get an Erie feeling of deja vu about dealing with high school football players....all of whom were football/basketball Gods in their own minds, none of whom made it anywhere close to the NFL or NBA  |
