The patch downloaded and it said it failed during patching.
It downloaded the repair tool to "repair" whatever went wrong.
Now the repair tool runs for a bit, then says that it has failed.
What now?
That's a lot of fail happening. |

Well not to be an ass about it, but the repair kit worked at repairing my download. That being said that occured 7-8 hours ago.

patcher failed for me, repair tool worked, in game now
people are having a variety of experiences with this one The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

Heh, I only came back to EVE because of that good-will letter :)
If I have to re-download and re-install I'd as soon as just leave it uninstalled. We don't have infinite bandwidth where I live to entertain this rinse-repeat.
Perhaps CCP knows of some way (perhaps a few specfic files I can delete) to get this repair tool working. |

Same for me. Patch fail.
But the repair tool worked.
Then I logged in and saw the 50 mile long lime green engine trails behind my Diemos and almost wish it hadn't worked.
Mr Epeen If you can read this, you haven't blocked me yet. |

You people fail. Maybe if you were as awesome as me, your patcher would not fail and would never require you to download the repair tool that CCP never actually fixed. <3<3<3 God wears-áRay Ban Aviators. |

same here; patch failed but repair tool did the job.
Well done to CCP for implementing such a useful feature. And it was really quick.
P.S. FTTC Internet connection dowloaded the main patch in less than 4mins! |

Well done for fixing something broken by the same people?
How about YOU FAIL for breaking something in the first place. |

Patch downloaded in <30min. Then failed.
Then i've noticed that the partition was full, so no wonder it failed.
Then i've deleted some stuff. Restarted the client. Had it apply the already downloaded patch.
Still failed, but seemed reasonable, because probably not all of the data got downloaded.
Repair tool. Watched my HDD get filled up again, probably due to unpacking stuff.
Deleted other stuff while it got filled up again.
Patching worked.

After the patcher failed, I effectively installed the patch using the repair tool. Probably one of the more bizarre experiences I've had installing software. |

After 1 hour, patcher failed.
10 minutes later, repair failed.
Tried to run as administrator, repair failed. "Could not access eve.exe"
Removed 'mark as read only' from the entire folder / sub folder, ran as administrator, repair failed.
Attempted to uninstall eve, eve uninstaller failed.
Kicked my computer, now downloading full client. |

I had to repair both my PCs over the new patch, which is something I have never had to do before. Other than that, it all went well although it took some time.
CCP - I think that there is a problem somewhere here on the download patch. |

Theres another thread for that particular 'feature' of the updater.
ps. Running the repairer is the best idea in most of your cases imo. As long as its the correct one. |

If people run out of space on C: they propably notice it at least when their PC turns into marshmallow. Windows essentially requires certain amount of % of free space on C: always. Its a royal pain once it gets beyond that point. |

I tried download the new 'EXPANSION' and my internet connect had a hiccup at 50% which in turned made the entier download corrupt, although it tried to install. Then told me the install failed and I had to repair, so the repair started a 1.1gig download and actually downloaded the old 'EXPANSION' again, Incarna. Then I ran Eve client again after it 'successfully repaired' and I am presented with Incarna and not Crucible. So then it tells me to redownload Crucible again, this time finally working and getting the game going eventually.
Total time wasted: 4 hours Total Bandwidth wasted: 2.5 gigs
(This is an issue for country's like New Zealand where we are restricted to 40gigs a month for some people)

Why did the repair feature not just repair the tiny corrupted file that was downloaded in the new expansion, instead it downloaded the files needed to run Incarna. Sad face. |
