Few weeks ago i asked myself: Are there any anti pirate corporations still out there? Do they still fight?
And i dont mean CFS region, what is an entire region, but more about the decent mid sized corporations out there who actively fight against pirates.
Single corporations like Eve Marshalls once were, stuff like that.
Oh and 1 man corporations dont count in my eyes.

Evolution is has all of the pirate corps on it's kos list. In fact, as we speak, we are keeping the pirates in fd-mlj docked with their tails between their legs. |

Like evol DP does what it can to run out pirates such as the fd attacks on TLBC a few nights ago :) not to mention the curse attacks along side evol :)

Im not asking to join a corp, but it seems that more old school anti pirate corporations like Eve Marshalls etc. have become silent?? or better say less active.
All active pirate hunters have joined alliances and never leave their regions...
Lets say i have a bit of interest in the mather.
I find it interesting to see 30+ pirate corporations with 600+ members total have an enemy of maybe 5 active anti pirate corporations.
(and this also tells me when to scream for help)

just for your info dragon, gresil from red corsairs was trying to be funny when he said red corsairs remove pirates.
red corsairs used to be pirates. they now just stand next to other pirates.
sa, fa, and cfs don't have piratical corporations in them. |

Reasons are simple IMHO, and it comes down to money. The bounty system has never worked right, and so the only real incentive (in a game that is all about money) in PvP is either killing someone who is interfering with your biz (no profit from killing them, but hopefully biz benefits), and killing them for their modules.
ATM AFAIK the only active pirate hunters are members rich enough to afford to lose a BS now and then, and bored enough to want something to do. As for killing PC pirates for their modules, if you want loot modules it is much safer, easier and more profitable to kill NPC pirates for them. Especially since NPCs are too stupid to know they are outgunned, and will stand, fight and die with suicidal vigor, while PC pirates are usually smart enough to warp out and live to fight another day, leaving you with zero profit, zero satisfaction, and zero biomass for your fridge...
Basically, every hour you spend hunting PC pirates is an hour of money lost. Fine for the rich, but when new ships, mods and such cost Isk, you gotta get that from somewhere and it sure isn't bounty hunting.
To date my personal anti-pirate efforts have been a -4 mil Isk net loss, having lost a BB, some good modules and having gained a couple of heavy drones when the gatecampers ran from our re-inforcements. But even if they had stayed, fought and we had lost no more ships ourselves, destroying their 3 BSes and getting all their loot NEVER would have paid back our losses.

I think you'll find you're wrong =). I know alot of pirate hunters who hunt with their only BS and I myself (no BS) have lost many a cruiser to pirates.
There are still a small minority of PvPers out there i.e. pirate hunters who chose the harder option, the other being becoming a pirate, but I do not see any challenge in being a pirate, whacking the odd indy here and there, running when you get confronted, of course there are "exceptions" and there are some true pvp pirates out there.
The biggest problem i'm having atm as a pirate hunter is that alot of pirates, I won't name corps, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, have craploads of pos sec rating members (high ones at that), so when I attack/kill them I loose the sec and atm I have to contend with staying out of high sec systems and being attacked by other players who perceive me as a pirate  I am in affect a pirate hunter living the eve-life of a pirate, but hey, I don't reaally give a crap, my torps dont discriminate against high sec pirates 
Oh yeah, and I am nowhere near rich, I have only been playing 1 month and I , on average loose about 2 lvl3 cruisers a week, not because i'm crap, but because sometimes you can't compete with what the pirates throw at you All this comes out of MY pocket, and pirates never drop any good loot, tight buggers!

You guys really suck. The pirates I've spoken to has had much more fun in real fights than in "6 battleships vs 1 bestower fights".

We actually mine omber and kernite in order to build the finest Miner I miners lasers, which we then use to mine omber and kernite. We do in fact have an anti-pirate division to protect our scordite mining operations in Luminaire and New Caldari. Our force currently consists of two rifters, a vigil and a hoarder with a 280mm scout! We would love to see another pilot join up as space is a dangerous place these days.
