Take the existing deployable warp bubble generators change the warp bubble effect to the effect of cloaking all freindlies to the alliance/corp that deployed it. Negative effects No active modules can be used, Speed is reduced dramatically (in line with existing cloaks), Unable to warp. Unable to use within 200km of a pos
Basicly allows fleets to hide groups for proper ambush's and other operations rather than relying on gatecamps.

yes yes god yes. that would eliminate login traps. and it would also make anti cloaking technology more usefull. i can see a fleet bringing 1 anti cloaking ship for ambushes and the like

ive always thought covert ops were a lil to.... limited. i mean their is only cloaking.
for quite i while ive been wishing that it could get a major rework and a major upgrade.
oh make the portable generator unable to cloak structures. but then add a special expensive hard to produce structure for poses that cloaks them. that way an alliance could hide its "vital" posses but it would be to expensive to hide them all. hide them that is untill the system gets pin pointed. and people start warping around the moons with "anti" cloaking tech

I believe the devs has thought about such a device, look in the overview settings.

Not only thought about, it was planned.
Then the initial bpc's for cloaking devices were handed out, the devs were also going to hand out mobile cloaking field bpc's. Unfortunately that never happened, would have been interesting to say the least.

5 points for C&C reference =). I'd also like to see a reverse version of this too... a field that will decloak anything entering it.. or at least a modified smartbomb version.

There wouldnt neccesarily be required to have a module that decloaced a structure since going near it would automatically de cloak it. And since posses are at moons it wouldnt be like searching for a needle in a hay stack

i was just thinking this when reading another thread about local chat being taken away and people moaning about having to use scan.
was mainly miners moaning :P
maybe:
you can still use all your mods inside them.
but you cant see outside them or shoot from inside to outside or vice verca...
how does that sound?

Does anyone remember the jove event? If I remember correctly, before it was made official that it'd drop the first cloaks, it was mentioned that it might be a cloak generator.
So I guess this item has been planned for oh.. 2 years now?
