Hi guys!
I've been playing EVE for over a month now and still haven't got a lvl 2 agent, eventhough I've done about 150 lvl 1 missions with 3 different agent (so
about 40-70 per agent...
I've asked lots of people on how to proceed to get a lvl 2 agent but nothing so far... Here are some of the things I have tried:
- Switching to an agent of my own faction (Gallente) - getting my standing with the agent to about 4.5 (which others have assured me should be plenty to get to lvl 2) - using a thorax so I really rip through the lvl 1 missions at lightning speed - my agent has 15 Quality - starting to train social skills (at the time of writing: social lvl 3; Diplomacy lvl 2)
Now I found out that ONE of those 3 agent has a negative standing towards my corp of -1.25 (don't even know how it could come to that?) but that shouldn't have affected the other 2 agents from different corps, right?
I'm really starting to get frustrated by this and thought I'll try my luck on the forums before I file a peptition or even quit EVE for good... :-(
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

you most likely have more than enough standings to try a lvl 2 agent by now. Go to your character window, standings, and then "liked by". Check which faction/corp you have the most standing with, then check their show info window->agents.
You should find a lvl 2 agent sooner or later. Oh and bring a cruiser. Trust me :) >

you need corp standing
check in your standing page to see who "likes"you the most
iff this is 1 or higher you can get a lv2 -20 Quality agents standing 2.0 = LV2 agent
does nothing got to do whith YOUR corp standings its THERE stanings to YOU
you just have to look go to your standing page click on the best corp(highest standing @ corp, like a faction navy one), to get there info go to there agents list, and look for a good one, it will say what ones you can talk to
and do missions
i am doing LV4 misions for calderie navy back to server now __________________________ Cybernetics in Motion |

Edited by: rixtim on 10/09/2006 11:44:47 ok its not the staning woth the agent that counts its the standing with the corp or faction the agent belongs too.
do show info on the corp you agent is in and go to the agents tab. there you will see a list of agents you can and cant use in various catorgorys.
you need a standing with the corp or faction of 1.0 to get to use the worst level two agents (lowest quality)
The connections skill is a good skill to boos your standings instantly (Skill at interacting with friendly NPCs. 4% Bonus to effective standing towards friendly NPC Corporations.)
i hope this helps if not contact me ingame and ill see what i can do i know of a very good website that lets you search on various criteia (standings corp type of agent level ect) that i can use to see if there are any level two agents you can use
also i forgot to say if you fail missions you lose standings with that corp and it can take a fair few missions to get to where you were before you failed

OMFG YOUR STANDINGS!
You've probably got high enough standings to be doing lvl 3 missions, Time to kick your corp mates in the ass for making you waste the last couple of weeks, and not helping you!
The incentive is on you to find your next agent, your current agents dont just direct you to the next lvl once you've reached a certain point.
Show info on your agent with the highest standings (Wenarielves) Do a 'people and places' search for their corp (material aquisition) Select the agents Tab. View agents in the same field as your current agent. (security) Look at all the agents you can use (It lists them as 'Agents you can use)
fly to the station of the agent you want to use, and start a convo, simple as that.

Tried that even before posting... If there were any lvl 2 agents in that list, I wouldn't have needed to post this thread, mate... ;-D
Thanks everybody for trying to help, though...

Seriously raise your social skills. Those alone should get you a L2 agent. -=Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds=- |

It is possible you've been working with extremely low quality level 1 agents, or that you've failed some missions and lost standing that way. But still, as others have said, get Social and Connections up. Also get Negotiation at the same time, it's free money in the long run.

Aireria Faille Is a lvl 2 security agent for Material Acquasition.
Munatoh Sajatoma is a lvl 2 Astrtosurveying agent for Hyasyoda.
You should be able to use both. <insert Signature> |

DO missions for the same corp, not for different ones.
Do the important missions, huge faction standing boost and if you are lucky enough to get them for the corp you run for then good corp standing boost too.
This is the best way to boost standings at the start of your career (this and connection skills)

Make sure you do your missions for one corporation, and keep checking your standings with that corporation. Also you're going to want Social III or IV and connections III or higher. You should be rocking higher level agents in no time.

The last 2 hours ingame have helped me more than like 2 weeks prior to that!
While I still can't use any lvl 2 agent, by training connections only 1 lvl my standing with the "material aquisition" rose to 1.02! So once I finished training it to lvl 2 or even 3 I should be able to use those agents...
One thing I can't figure out yet, though: Most of you keep saying I should be able to do lvl 2 agents already, if not lvl 3, while that is not the case, I keep checking my availible agents under corp info...
Hmm, at least LVL 2's will be availible to me just by waiting another 2 hours... :P

Good luck. Remember, social skills are as useful for mission running as combat skills. Combat skills let you do more missions in less time, social skills make them pay better.

If your standing to that corp "material acquisition" is 1.02 then you can use a quality -20 lvl 2 agent (if that corp has one). It sounds to me that you arent actively searching for a lvl 2 agent. Click on the show info icon on the corp icon on a station run by that corp. Chose the agent tab. Chose which type of mission you want to run, Security, admin, personnel, etc. There you can see a list of all agents. If there is no agent you can use in that list chose another mission type and check that one. One you see one that is under "agents available to youu" right click on him/her set as destination, undock and fly to that station where the agent is. Heck I could do lvl 2 agents with any corp with just connections 3 before i even did any missions.

And if you just got connections to 1, 2, whatever, you'll probably have to restart eve for it to change the people available to you. I'm not sure if they fixed that yet :/

the worst level 2 security ageent for material aqusition requires 1.40 standings to use bu the worst lvl 2 agent in the corp only requires 1.10 standings (mining agent i think)

You can also use the Map to look for agents that you can use.
Open it up and under one of the tabs, there is a button for My Agents. Click that and, with good eyes, start moving your mouse around and seeing what lvl 2 or 3 agents are available to you. You might find something close by that suits your needs.
