I haven't run into any sleepers personally, but I was wondering if sleepers ever scan corpses/if something special happens when they do. I was thinking the new death penalty that CCP foreshadowed could tie into sleepers messing with your corpse.
From the dev blog:
"These medical clone changes are just the beginning of a larger project revolving around clones and their purpose in EVE. While we are still in the early stages of design, the Rhea changes are our first step towards the future possibilities of clones. We will maintain the meaningful nature of death and we are going to give you ways to interact with that death which will affect the whole EVE universe."
So, you die and nobody scoops your corpse. After x amount of time, a sleeper decloaks, scoops your corpse, and warps off. Later, a new sleeper will spawn in system with your skills and will be in a ship best suited for the skills acquired. It will be "awakened" and proceed to patrol with other sleepers. Maybe it steals your identity, and starts buying things and spending money from your wallet. You have to track it down and kill it so it stops impersonating you, or you track it down because it drops good loot.
It would mean that death is meaingful still because it would matter if a high sp character is podded. After a battle, a choice would need to be made: Do we scoop the corpses so we don't have to deal with awakened npcs that will spawn in the area but will annoy our enemies, or do we leave them and take out the resulting awakened for good loot?
I realize that this mechanic is full of holes but I hope that it's at least interesting to some. |

Hah! And every time a Sleeper has stolen your corpse you get a one go as Sleeper agent with permadeath, playing the Capsuleer's mortal enemy for a while. Well, the other mortal enemy besides spirits and Quafe.

That would be a neat sidegame but very exploitable. |

So jita undock is just as safe as normal. |
