To compound that point; just like real life people see a "sure thing" and jump on the bandwagon slowing the return to pre spike fall.

The margin on a single sale pays for another ship outright, and those who are too ignorant or wilfully blind to the rebalance intiative have always borne the brunt of the price hikes. I guess where it settles is the interesting question. to buy all at the current price when the change was announced was a smart move. buying up all the supply now... well imo that move is a little late. A week after the patch hits, the bubble will burst and recons will return to a price that is effectively pegged to T1 and T2 mats, as is the case for all non-faction/non-T3 ships in eve. If anything, the speculation might lead to a short term supply surplus simply because the demand for recon class vessels simply isn't that large - they aren't a mainline ship like ishtars or logi.
