CCP will never implement something so asinine. Looks like were stuck with the player driven market as our only source of goods.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

For some reason it didn't have the effect I though it would on the economy.

hey I never said anything about modules
I'm a wee bit more focused on the long run. plus with a blockade runner a Jita run only takes minutes, and you can carry quite a bit of product. I made a bit of money recently off of differences in markets between jita and amarr

Now, someone has performed some market fuckery to put the price up near 250m. Are you going to sell your Huginns for the old 160m, just because? No, you'll list them at 249,999,999.99, and then start playing the undercutting war. Now if there is very little demand for said ships, the price will fall fairly rapidly. However, even assuming that the guy who did the original pinch doesn't just keep buying your stock out and jacking the prices up even higher to compensate, with normal demand it can take prices quite a while to fall back to their previous levels. |

To compound that point; just like real life people see a "sure thing" and jump on the bandwagon slowing the return to pre spike fall. |

Fundamentally this.
The margin on a single sale pays for another ship outright, and those who are too ignorant or wilfully blind to the rebalance intiative have always borne the brunt of the price hikes.

luckily the eve market has more than 2 players. and yea it will probably take some time for the price to reach a new normal, but I don't think manufactures are going to mind the extra profit. although with all the extra production build costs are bound to rise. I guess where it settles is the interesting question.
to buy all at the current price when the change was announced was a smart move. buying up all the supply now... well imo that move is a little late.

Give it a week or two for the inventors and industrialists to adjust. If recon prices sit at significantly more than material costs, production will adjust to meet the demand of speculators. The speculators buying up recons are, after all, just leaving money on the table by increasing the inventor's margin.
A week after the patch hits, the bubble will burst and recons will return to a price that is effectively pegged to T1 and T2 mats, as is the case for all non-faction/non-T3 ships in eve.
If anything, the speculation might lead to a short term supply surplus simply because the demand for recon class vessels simply isn't that large - they aren't a mainline ship like ishtars or logi. |
