I have read much about this corp but never had the pleasure, hopefully I soon will. Last night a few of my corp mates were out mining in Empire space making an honest if not boring living. Then along came a MF member who sat watching them mine. His intentions where soon revealed when he started to chat in local about the dropped can. He was warned off by one of my corp buddies and off he went only to come back mob handed to try thir luck again. Through lack of any offensive weapons my corp members had to dock to avoid getting the crap kicked out of them.
Now its not the aggressive action I moan about and not even the mob handedness of them but the ore stealing. I thought they were a corp hell bent on fighting BS and taking them down with some style but the illusion has been brocken and they are just a bunch of scum sucking thieves.

Not suprised maybe a little disillusioned, from what I read I expected more them to be combat pirates. But I guess whatever is said they are and will always be pirates so should never be trusted in any situation. -----------------------------

Edited by: Ska Kalazar on 20/10/2003 11:18:53 If you were in high sec space then your ships were pretty safe. If you were mining without secure cans then consider them at risk. We will go after non secured cans simply because stealing the ore beats mining for the damn stuff any day (we all loathe mining) and we get through a hell of a lot of frigates. So we obtain minerals from anywhere we can get them. Beg, borrow, steal, get given, its all the same to us.
If you were in low sec space then consider yourself lucky you were not attacked and your ship blown out from underneath you.
Some people actually like getting attacked by us. It breaks up the humdrum existance of chopping rocks for hours. Can't see the attraction myself of sitting infront of a rock.
Just consider ourselves the alternate to NPC frigates warping in on your mining party. Whats the difference in 4-5 NPC's warping in or 4-5 MF frigates warping in. Would you rather fight human opponents or crappy NPC's?
We are about the only corp that I know of that actively hunts through belts looking for targets. We don't camp gates and we don't gank newbs. We don't intentionally pod people either but if your unlucky enough to get hit by missile splash then all we can do is say sorry

I am the same and think mining is boring as watching paint dry, and find my mins else where. I would be more than happy for you to attack me as I am looking for my first PvP. Which is why I am making my way over to the system my corp mates where mining in to act as escort. By all means pop by and maybe we can engage?

Well said Pychian (Are you same guy from CFS who seemed like such an idiot last night?)
Anyway.... you are right they are full of crap. The brag ya ya ya we kill x cruisers and 1 Battleship with just our frigates - we just want to fight....
Bull - they are griefers that even had the tenacity to call themselves pirates LMAO. They are not interested in fighting. They are intgerested in winding u up to a point where you declare war so they can grief you more with no concord intervention. Their 'kills' come from sentry guns and concord after fooling people into shooting at them which they then step onto the boards to brag about.
The REAL story is this - they are not competent enough to have the balls to go out and earn battleships with their main characters and fight with them picking any one of the myriad of sides to take in the universe atm.
And as a final note - who can respect a corp that could be obliterated with a single blast of a large smartbomb? LOL ---------------------------------------------------

Learn to expect the unexpected.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Seer, I am the fool from last night, but who is the fool to agree with a fool??
Anyway, I am hoping my CEO does declare a war on them just so I can have my fun. We can defend out cans without fear of CONCORD retribution and I can have plenty of target practive at the same time.
Mercenary Frigates come one come all look me up in game about 22:00 eve time and I will let you know where I am.

On the contrary I think you will find that most people in MF have mains that have nice collections of Battleships and Cruisers.
Look at myself for instance. My Caldari main has a Raven, Moa, Blackbird, Bestower and Kestrel.
My other character is an Amarrian. She run's her own little corp. She has a nice little business selling frigates at strategic points around the eve universe. She owns ALL the frigate blueprints ALL researched to ME10. Also just bought a Blackbird BP last night. She has a Maller and Omen in the hanger and is about to get herself an Armageddon. Do you know what she's going to use it for? Mining. Yes put 7 Miner II's on the front and I can collect enough minerals for about 20 frigates inside 15 minutes and still have enough left over to give 50% to MF.
You know why most people join MF? Becuase they have achieved most things in the game and this is the last stop at trying to have some fun before they cancel their accounts. You wouldn't believe some of the people we have in our ranks who have main's in VERY well respected corp's throughout EVE.

I believe the incident took place in a .4 system. He must be the pilot who was in a Tristan. Prior to us messing with him we destroyed a thorax that was mining. The fight lasted pretty long time as I and Valdi run out of missiles and had to finish killing him with a bbgun. (some crap gun I had mounted) We let the pod go as we had no intention in killing him. I then got a message from the French corps asking me to be carefull not to kill other French player. Other than that the guy we destroyed was pretty cool with it and agreed he had be stupid not to run as he was not equipped to fight other players. Anyway, this Tristan pilot gets hit once, and warps away . He left a can and 2 mining drones. In the can we found scordite. Do you really think we where going to take 740 scordite? Nope we shot the can and guess what got a rather high sec rate hit for destroying a can. He then complained to us in local for stealing his ore and told us that we better not attack him. I m not to sure what happened after as I had to log off. Now I can tell you we do go after battle ships. I lost my frig in a mater of 2 or 3 seconds and was lucky to escape in my pod. We also get chewed up pretty badly by drones before we can get into range to kill BS or even cruisers.

I wasn't there when it happened but the incident happened in a .5 system and the two ships involved where a Dominix and a Megathron.

Edited by: Ska Kalazar on 20/10/2003 12:11:58 There is a Merc Cruisers. Generally guys who's characters skills have grown beyond the point where they can justify continuiously shelling out half a mil for a clone. Also guys who just like killing stuff with cruisers. Merc Frigates & Merc Cruisers have been known to team up on occasion. When that happens its usually a pretty deadly coc-ktail

actually, Ska, that makes two of us. At least occasionally.
On the few occasions I met members of Mercenary Frigates, they have always been the ones that restored my hope in "pirates" in this game. Keep it up!
