My map hates me... It just wont open! How do I fix it? Is there a way to reset the map settings back to the way it starts?

When I try to open my map, it just removes everything off my screen, stations, planets moons, and suns. But doesn't bring up the map. When I hit esc to fix the no station problem my map is in the back all blury like it is up... I hope there is a way to work around this problem.

i've had this problem a few times, but not since the last patch, a relog was fixing it.

Had the same problem some times - leave the game, restart it and be happy

I cannot open my map either. I accidently left the star display to show assets and when I open the map I just get a "load bar", waiting for up 10 minutes and still doesn't show the map.
Pressing escape to close the modal window (load bar) will some how leave the map open but I can't us it since it doesn't show properly. I can see the "you are here" ring swooshing around on the screen if I am in a station doing this. Opening the map again and pressing escape puts everything back to normal.
I think it is possible to reset the map setting by removing the cache directory or just the binary prefs file in your eve folder but I haven't tried it yet since I don't want to loose all my other settings.

When the map was giving me problems I had to rollback my video driver from ATI 3.2 all the way back to 2.5 to get it to work correctly..
"Hey" the entire game is working fine with the 2.5 drivers.. anything newer and the map stops working correctly...
So I'll just "stay" at 2.5
