Is there any chance the in game browser could be updated? I feel like it would be nice to be able to listen to podcasts or watch youtube vids and such while in game. This is mostly so that I don't have to alt+Tab out and be at potential risk while not viewing the game. I just feel like it would make the in game browser a lot more useful. More so if you featured links and such on the default home page for some of the more popular tutorial vids or particularly helpful podcasts and such. More over, I'm flying around in space ships with amazing technology, and you expect me to believe that my ships internet browser can't run a podcast? C'mooooon :P |

It doesn't matter how much you update the browser, it cannot run plugins required to deliver the content you want. As a browser, it's been vetted multiple times and is probably the safest browser in the market outside of specialized sandbox browsers. Adding any plugin to it will increase the security holes by a large margin, in this case easily tenfold, closer to a hundredfold.
You can listen to podcasts on a normal browser in the background, just set the graphics to "Fixed Window" and alt-tabbing doesn't cause you seizures. |

No. In terms of security it needs to stay basic. If you really want to watch vids, then use an out of game browser in a second monitor. |

Note: You not being able to get a second monitor is not a good reason for CCP to make the IGB more of a security risk.

Also, didn't realize that the in game browser running plug-ins would increase security risk O.o I don't really know how that stuff works. On another side note, I actually have 3 "monitors", one of them being a nice little 42 inch tv I'll plug in via HDMI ^^ it's great for eve. I suppose I can dual monitor but I try to keep my multitasking to...well not a minimum, but lower. I like to pay attention in game and try to actually immerse myself lol. |
