The player run market will probably not be supplied as well for a caldari pilot, but otherwise it makes absolutely no difference where you operate.
For some reason the fact that ~50% of the people replying to the thread fail to read and understand the point of the OP is hilarious. |

I don't know from Amarr space (and for very good reason, I suspect) but I do know that Caldari space sucked the grand piano for this Minmatar pilot. Sure, one EMP M BPO would've set me right but I depend on people selling way below the market for all my ordnance needs.

If you focus on missiles you will be off ok since angels cartel npcs drop missles launchers and shield related modules, what keeps them plentyful in the market for players. Hybrids might be a bit messy tho.

There wont be a problem, you're in Empire and the Freighters that bustle back and forth keep the markets stocked with everything you will want, albiet at a slightly higher price.
The price difference wont be much though, as in Empire theres so much competition.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

There is a lot of stuff Caldari orientated throughout empire due to the sheer number of Caldari pilots in game. As a Minmatar pilot I succesfully operate in Domain (an Amarr region) when not in 0.0, running missions for the Republic Security Services

I operated in Minmatar space for a few months, in fact I have jump clones with Brutor Tribe. Gear was never a real problem, even ships, seemed readily available, and it was never worth a trip to Jita to find a better deal.
Main thing to be aware of is Angels do all damage types, so it can be challenging to fit all-around tanks to your ships, but good practice for PVP where you can't be sure of whats coming at you.
Amamake is a pit ;)
note: If you want to misison run you will start out with low faction to minmatars, especially if you have worked in Caldari space.. You can compensate a bit for this by doing tag turn in missions outside the minamtar starter stations.
