Hello all,
Just want to check something. In the small print it says, "You always get training for one character with your subscription, if you are not training two or three characters, this time is being wasted."
This line is a bit confusing to me. If I subscribe I can only train one character, right?
Don't you have to pay more to train another character?
How is that time training one character being wasted?
Thanks and apologies if this gets asked a lot. :) |

the line you read refers specificly to multi character training

the multi character training time is wasted, because it ticks down even if you don't allocate a skill starting at when you activated it, and ending at its expiry date a month later. if you fail to train a skill, you've wasted it.

A. You can ALWAYS train 1 character / account.
B. You can buy MCT, which opens a 2nd / 3rd skillqueue.
C. Once bought, timers starts running, so if you buy it now, but don't use a 2nd / 3rd skillqueue for the duration of the MCT (normally 30 days, but we have a 20 day gift option now). It's wasted money as you didn't use what you paid for.
The last thing is what CCP is warning you for. It's not that you buy it now, and can activate when you want (or that it is just exactly 30 days of skilltime).
It is 30 days, starting counting, from the moment you pay for it.

They gave us for Christmas 20 days to train a second character on the same account.
So if you've activated that gift from the Account Manager web page or from in-game, your 20 days are ticking away and you should train an alt. That could also be what the warning is about. |

Just to clarify on MCT versus a second account alt:
- two accounts means two totally seperate characters that both neede to be plexed or subbed every single month. You can log both in at once.
- MCT means training one of the "spare" characters on the same account. So long as the account is subbed you can train one, two or three characters at the same time. You can still use a character even after it is no longer training. You can only log one character in at a time. |

Yeah, I think that's where I was getting confused. When I recently subbed I got the free 20 days for an alt and so I set up an alt and I'm currently training two characters on my account at the same time, which is great.
I got it into my head that being subbed meant that all characters on my account could receive training while I remained subbed.
It's great to be able to play different alts on the same account, but the cost to keep them all in training is a bit too expensive for me at the moment. :) |

Well, since it's only 20 days do something short and useful with the second character. Like, focus to industry skills (refining, or multiple manufacturing slots), or trading (reduced taxes, multiple sell orders), or transport ships, and when the 20 days expire you can have a useful alt that can continue to perform some activity without the need for further training.
Some of the skills are expensive to buy, though, I grant you that. Not much that can be done there. |

Yes, for this alt I'm just focusing in archaeology and scanning and astrometrics and hope that with the short time i have on it, I can train enough to at least be able to find some decent relic sites! :) |
