Just wondering what level missions people think an interceptor would be able to do. Same goes for assault ships, for that matter.

<- not a missioner
That being said, using some educated guesswork I'd say probably keep the inty at 2 or below, as if you get into a level 3 and get webbed, you're in for some massive hurt that you probably wouldn't be able to evade fast enough. That being said though, AFs can do almost all 3s in their sleep, and some apparently can solo L4s as well.

I don't fly intys yet, but I have soloed some level 4s in my Ishkur and Enyo. You work the transverse velocity to avoid being hit. If you get webbed in a level 4, the AF tank can hold for a short while as you take the webbing frigs out - but not very long. In a level 3, no problem, NPCs just don't deal enough damage, you can tank them easily while slaying any webbers.
The Inty can supply the transverse ofc, but I don't think it's tank will hold while dispatching webbers. You just can't get the resists high enough.

I used a crusader to do level 3s, just hit and run, takes a while though. ----

If your very, very, good with the mouse I would have thought missions in an inty could be quite fun. If you can manage to dodge the webbers while killing them and also keeping up transversal against everything else.
I find it good to practive flying through roid belts at max speed without hitting into any of them .

Only problem i can see for an inty in a mission is that last time i did mission (about 1 year ago) you couldn't use mwd in deadspace. An inty w/o a mwd nulls the point of using one. Assault frig would be better and an ass frig can do lvl 3 w/ some faction fittings.

I have done many lvl4's in my Crusader.
Generally there are only three situations that present a problem to me:
1. Two or more webbing frigs together with support ships 2. Lots of missile users 3. Good battleship tanks
All turret guns can be tanked by using your superior transversal. If you are webbed or double webbed, you have only a very short time to disable the webbers, especially if other ships are in range and suddenly hitting you. For example: I ran lvl4 Vengeance several times, but the last spawn includes several tough MWD-ing Assault Frigs that stay together. Was not able to kill them on my own before being blown up first.
If most enemy ships have missiles, the DPS can simply be too high too tank. Since you need a lot of time to kill the enemies, even the 5-10 points per missile impact can get problematic if you are hit by 6 each second.
My Crusader currently tops out at 100-110 DPS. A few elite NPC battleships can tank (on average) more than that. You will not be able to kill them. Like Mordus Mammoth's or Holborak Moon.
Other battleships may simple take a lot of time. I killed Sansha battleships spawns of up to 1.2 Mil isk bounty. It just takes time.
I soloed missions like Pirate Invasion without needing to warp out in my Inty.
