After spending the day running delivery missions......
Combat Deliveries:
It can be easly done using exhisting missions, and it would create the "group" missions people have been dreaming off.
Example:
Please deliver 10km3 to the research station on the last gate of World Collide.
Since the rats respawn, you would need to take the hauler with the fighting ships, it would be very hard to just kill rats first than bring hauler in. CCP could even lock the gates, so you have to kill all rats before it lets you jump.
So, now we are looking at least 2 people to run the mission.
Since the rats could target the hauler, the ship would have to be tanked, or people would have to use transport ships (nice new use for those nice resistances on transport ships). Also, because the hauler HAS to survive to complete the mission, people would have to think about fitting logistics mods on their combat ships to keep the hauler alive, or bring a ship dedicated to logistics to help the hauler.
You could also have blockade running missions, deliver supplies to a sieges station, mine x amount of something in a DS pocket that has rats with reimforcements, than deliver it to the next gate. (obviously first gate would not allow for ore to come in)
If anything it would make for a great corp ops, get people involved, even the people that like mining.
Just a few thoughts after mindlessly flying over 200 jumps today...

PS - I think its a good way to introduce group missions without recreating the wheel

I prefer my kill missions to STAY as kill missions and nothing else is required to do but to kill rats, thank you very much

I did not say replace kill missions with combat courier, nor I said replace regular courier with combat courier... the title actualy says NEW MISSION TYPES, not replace exhisting ones.
So, you could even have them only offered from spcific agents.....

I think it's be nice to have Manufacturing missions as well:
Say you get given a BPC by agent and have to go make the item within a certain time period
