Tanks well, replace some SPR with BCUs if you can, try one at a time until you get a good balance of tank/dmg

Sounds like a standard setup... More usually people fit 2 hardeners and 3 large shield extenders instead of 1/4 like you did, but you can try your option, too. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

Edited by: Norvys Kerens on 13/09/2006 17:51:04 I just chucked this setup onto quick fit and with everything t2 (except the shield power relays) there's still 221 power and 121 cpu remaining.
However that's with all fittings skills at level 5 except adv weapons upgrades which is at level 4. If you throw some skill points into getting more power and cpu out of your ferox you can upgrade that Nos to a medium.
Edit: don't forget to fill your drone bay as well

Well the definition of passive tanking is a little blurry where active hardeners are concerned. Mostly these days 'passive shield tanking' refers to any setup where there is no active shield booster - invul shields are a pretty standard issue on most passive shield tanks.
The module stacking rules mean that you're not getting a great return on the 4th (or even 3rd) shield extender (or SPR) and they really bloat your ship sig radius. Plus you don't need all those shield points for mission running or npc ratting, and in PvP you're better off with a couple of shield hardeners to cover the weak points in your shield resists.
Fit a med (cruiser sized) nos rather than a small (frigate sized) one. A target painter and 1-2 BCS would help with your missile DPS too.

No, shield extenders are not subjec to a stacking penalty. If they were, the passive Ferox would blow. Please take some time to read up on module stacking.

Edited by: Kazire on 13/09/2006 20:39:10 Decent set up, but instead of hardeners, get yourself some amps and some skills to boost those amps. I prefer 3 t2 shield extenders and two passive amps. Then keep your 3 spr's on the bottom.
Up top, 5 heavy launchers works, and nos is rather pointless. Instead maybe try a nuetralizer, or something else.

Yeah, the reason people fit the fourth extender is you get around 20% better hp/sec with it. With 4 SPRs you can't really run two invuls, so it's a good, cheap setup that can tank almost all lvl 3s infinitely. (It can handle every lvl 3 if you actually shoot back at the spawns.)

In my experience, heavy missiles hit horribly on interceptor class rats in lvl 3 missions. It's better to replace one of the heavy missiles with an assault launcher. ---------- EvE Ship Classes now in poster format |
