Hi all. I'm a student in the UK about to start my first year at university. Im worried about the filtering of the internet through the rooms, and can't get an answer from the uni about whether playing EVE will be permitted. If anyone can give me information from their experiences about whether most unis permit online gaming, i would appreciate it...
Specifically the University of Bath (as that's where I'm going), and also anyone from Brunel University too

Most Uni's let BitTorrent traffic through, so EVE shouldn't be a problem, but if the IT dept need more info, just tell them to open up port 26000 (twenty-six thousand) on the firewall and that should sort it !!!

I just finished at Salford uni and i never had a problem getting eve through the uni internet service. Only problem was it's so hard to write my essays when the eve icon is so close to the Word icon on my desktop

I have friends at Bath Uni who play EVE and they have no problems.
