Ok, so this is an alt of mine -- my corp doesn't allow for pirating, but I like my corp, so I made an alt to have some fun at the expense of others. 
Now, the problem is I've never pirated before. I know the basic principles of gate-camping, gate-sniping, ore thieving, etc., but my first attempts have been met with less than success. I would really like to PvP by myself in high-sec without concord interference (through can-flagging or by other means) or by suicide ganking (Still looking for a group of people to do that with).
I know it's difficult to find those people who don't understand what can-flagging is, but I'm all for obliterating apparent macro miners. I just don't know where to find them. Jita - Empty. Rens - Empty. Various 1.0s-.7s - empty except for a few "real" players.
Furthermore, I've read the guide at the top explaining the ore thief, but it doesn't explain how or where to look.
My other thought is that I'm just being impatient and that I've given up too quickly. Is there a long wait between finding targets?

.5 and above is either wars, or lame(but perfectly legal) gang invites,ore theives, such and such.(i dont consider sucide ganks pvp)
for more intensive pvp go to nearest lowsec, in a frig, and attack everything u see. fit a scram and orbit.
ive had more kills in frig than anything else. and i wasnt bored.
plus even tech 2 frigs dont cost much to replace.
look around motsu for macros saw chaygfrt1-7 there a while ago.
edit only thing i consider lame is gang invite. ore theive ect not

No! U may only attack members of ur own corp (excluding any noob corp) without being attacked by concord.
