Has anyone else had this issue,Jump into the system and eve just freezes up it then emergency warps you (client obviously sensing lag) then sit there for ages with the client completely locked locked up, in the end the only way to clear it is ctrl+alt+delete.
prior to the patch not an issue, after the patch is an issue, I have also noticed that the CPU load is much higher on the clients now.
I seriously love this game but now find myself thinking is it worth the hassle anymore (wishes he could turn clock back 2 years when game was more playable)

The optimizations to the client seem to be making it run faster, therefor taking up more CPU time - it's nothing to worry about, the moment you unfocus the client it'll drop to about 20-30% CPU usage, it's only trying to get the best framerate from your system using all that it can.
The freezing issue could be due to grabbing out of date data from your cache, another guy had this issue, cleared his cache and it fixed it up good and new, might be worth a try in your case (see my sig for clearing cache).

I got the same issue. Clearing cache didn't help.

I have a similar problem only, more often than not, I can't ctrl+alt+delete out of Eve as my machine locks up and won't let me get to the desktop. I can still talk to people on Vent (if I'm already logged in) but I can't do anything else. So I have to turn the power off and then restart the machine.
The annoying thing is because the game is freezing in this manner but not crashing to desktop, it doesn't seem to generate an error log I can send to CCP.

I'm having the same problem and it's only been an issue since the patch. Happens at jump gates only on occasion. Eve freezes up mid jump and I can't even get to my desktop. Tried waiting it out 30 minutes one time but client stayed frozen, the only solution I've found is to turn off the computer and restart.
Also seems that moving and stacking items items in my hangar has slowed to a crawl.
Is this a problem on my end? I cleared the cache but still have the problem. Any help is appreciated.

I was also experiencing this issue. According to a helpful poster in another thread, there is a bug in the overview dealing with velocity columns. Removing velocity, radial velocity, and transversal velocity from your overview may help.

I have had the same issue, and clearing my cash does not help.
When jumpingf through the gates wih your people and places window appears to increase the chances of the client freezing.
If you move the window slider in your people and places before you have fully jumped is almost 100% gaurenteed to make you client crash. 
The only way out once the client has frozen is ctrl+alt+del and also thc cpu is sat at 100%

If the velocity columns do not solve your problem, run logserver and see if that can give you some more information about the problem when it happens. There is a sticky that describes the program.

I had exactly the same issues also, only thing that worked was to clear the cache. Just rename your cache to f.x Cache2 and login, if it doesn't help delete the new cache and rename the cache2 to cache, and your back. |
