Hey people, after seeing how Sisters got themselves ships, and now Mordu's legion did, I started to wonder who the next one could be? After looking into big npc factions I have derived 3 possible candidates: Ammatar mandate - amarr-minmatar Khanid kingdom - amarr-caldari Thukker tribe - minmatar-caldari?
The appearance of races in the pirate factions as of ISIS is as follows: Gallente:5 Caldari:3 Amarr:3 Minmatar:3
So we can see that gallente will most likely not be featured next time, but instead we will get 3 factions with an equal mix of amarr/caldari/minmatar, which will bring up their numbers of appearance to 5.
But which one will be next? I say ammatar. What do you think? |

There are already ships produced by the Khanid Kingdom and Thukker Tribe. All those snazzy black missile spewing Amarr hulls are Khanid ships. Same goes for the Thukker with T2 Minmatar hulls.

But which one will be next? I say ammatar. What do you think? The Ammatar Mandate didn't really innovate anything as far as I'm aware. They just fly Minmatar ships with the colours of the Nefantar Tribe (themselves).
Khanid and Thukker have both made ships already. They are Tech II vessels listed as being the main Empire faction's.
Interceptor, Amarr: Malediction, developer: Khanid Innovations
Covert Ops, Amarr: Anathema, developer: Khanid Innovations
Covert Ops, Minmatar: Cheetah, developer: Thukker Mix
Assault Frigate, Amarr: Vengeance, developer: Khanid Innovations
Assault Frigate, Minmatar: Jaguar, developer: Thukker Mix
Interdictor, Amarr: Heretic, developer: Khanid Innovations
Recon Ships, Amarr: Curse, developer: Khanid Innovations
Heavy Assault Cruiser, Amarr: Sacrilege, developer: Khanid Innovations
Heavy Assault Cruiser, Minmatar: Vagabond, developer: Thukker Mix
Command Ships, Amarr: Damnation, developer: Khanid Innovations
Black Ops, Minmatar: Panther, developer: Thukker Mix
Jump Freighter, Minmatar: Nomad, developer: Thukker Mix
See, now? Do some browsing though the game first.

While we are on the subject, and after actually reading through the evelopedia information, I feel like CCP should really get on giving the EoM some unique ships - I mean after being around in the New Eden cluster for as long as they apparently have, one would think they'd have come up with there own ships by now... instead of just retrofitting amarrian ships. |

Incorrect on the Gallente. The pirate factions are as follows (including SOE and Mordu which are pirate because reasons) :
Guristas - Caldari + Gallente Mordu's Legion - Caldari + Gallente Serpentis - Gallente + Minmatar Angel Cartel - Gallente + Minmatar Sansha's Nation - Amarr + Caldari Blood Raider Covenant - Amarr + Minmatar Sisters of EVE - Amarr + Gallente
Usually pirate faction ships are built on the primary and secondary attributes that they borrow from parent races (Take SOE for example - they combine the Amarr armor doctrine with the Gallente drone doctrine ). The fact that the race appears 5 times doesn't mean that a possible future pirate faction that has a Gallente inspiration is off the board. If I'm to hazard a guess the next pirate faction will combine the Minmatar with the Caldari.

Ammatar mandate - not pirate Khanid kingdom - not pirate Thukker tribe - closer to pirate than the other two
EoM - not an actual faction ingame
What about Syndicate ?
Then again not sure CCP should force ships for all of factions... people will start to whine about sheips not being as they want them(SOE) or not being combat oriented engouth.

I wouldn't call Syndicate a faction. Possibly a syndication of factions and outlaws, primarily the Serpentis.
But EoM features as rats in certain missions. Pretty sure they have their own corp. They definitely have their own flag/icon in agent briefings. |

When CCP released the Mordu ships, they explained that the hole in the pirate faction skills was Caldari/Minmatar. They explained Mordu's ships needed unique models but couldln't have that skill mix for lore reasons. These ships are great by the way.
My hope is that CCP develop a Minmatar/Caldari pirate faction in the lore. This could easily be from an arm of the Thukker tribe, or something created to reflect a mix of tribes and megacorp escapees working outside of Empire politics.
Ishukone/Thukker dissidents could make sense? |

I think this is the point being made. The faction is simply the backdrop for ship designs that players will build and use, specifically requiring the mix of Minmatar/Caldari (faction) skills. |

I think there are enough ships. Better to make them all usefull in their nic he. Many ships are barely used, becuase other ships overshadowed them in their role and make it better or cheaper. Look at all the large sized ships BS and BC many of them are useless, after warpspeed change they all have to gain something other to make it worth fly them again.
My opinion is real balance of existing ships, then you can introduce new ones, when there is need for them (niche). |

For people new to Eve barging in this thread... Faction and Pirate are two terms applied in two seperate contexts.
Faction and Pirate are class designations in a standard MMO fashion (your "blues" and "purples" respectively).
Faction and Pirate are lore designations tied to mechanics. Each race is a Faction made up of NPC Coporations, and Pirates combine two Factions to make unique ship designs. That doesn't mean their hulls are always unique, but their properties are.
Sisters of Eve provides Pirate ships in the first sense, but is a corporation in a Faction in the second.
Eve is really a game that throws all this stuff in a big kettle, stirs up some lore, and comes up with unexpected results. There are no LVL5 Adventurous Vambraces of Strength in this game, things aren't designed around a static patterns of pre- and suffixes to designate predefined properties or levels of performance. |

Nope.
Don't think they will force developing some new faction just so someone can have his Minmatar/Caldari mix.
