Hi all,
When I try to dual account one account always freezes on jump-in to a new system.
I have absolutely no idea why, until recently I've been able to dual account with no problem. I don't have a supercomputer but it's more than adequate.
I also only have one instance of EvE on my HDD.
Any ideas?

Yep had the same issue here, cleared cache as well but still had the same issue.
Prior to the patch I ran up to 4 of my accounts on one machine running each account on its own client. Had no issues with that whatsoever except for the lag that everyone in EVE suffers. Now I can only run 2 at best and still get the issue. Jump through gate and hey presto freeze and only way to unlock is by ctrl+alt+delete kill process.
One thing I did notice was that locked up client was using 50% of the CPU on its own while the other hovered at around 20%.
With the game going the way it is performance wise I am now open to finding another game tbh, that is something I thought I would never say. Interesting CCP celebrated breaking the 30k mark on tranquility, shame the player experience was not half of what it was 2 years ago because of the performance issues.

You were never meant to be able to use two accounts at once, it's just a bonus :(. Try killing off processes and see if that yields improvements. Unfortunatly, this is meant to be a single client game, CCP never said it was meant to be played with two or more clients, and never designed it to be able to run two at once. You wouldn't run two Half-life 2 clients, or Doom 3 clients, or FEAR clients, it's simply been a bonus. You should prepare for more of this "no dual accounts" thing, since the new Trinity engine will most probably be exceptionaly resource hungry, having more DX9 features and such. -

Well the "power of two" offers were about for a long time and an awfully large number of people I know have 2 accounts.
If this is the case then what changed? Surely there would be patch notes of some description if a nerf like this happened? It's not like the 2 processes are clogging up all my resources, it's just not working even though I have CPU and memory to burn...

Also having the same problem. I understand that it is a bonus to play 2 accounts at once - but this MMO also limits you to ONE active character at any one time/account. Other MMOs don't seem to do that.
I know that is off topic, and is not germane to the issue of dual accounts, but ... it seems like this game SHOULD be designed to run dual accounts - if only because we have to pay for them. I know... I know... off topic. Sorry. Just my 2 cents worth.

It'd be funny if after issuing a statement disallowing dual accounts (or more) that about 30%-50% active accounts cancelled.
(the 2nd accounts!) :P ---- .

I had the same problem myself, see some practical solutions here;

And as I think others have mentioned, with dual accounts, run each eve from its own directory/folder, eg. have two copies.

I run 5 accounts at the same time, each client from its own folder. Works without problems except for the usual lag tho.

the fact that you have ever been able to is kind of lame ______________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.

You think running multiple accounts by 1 person is lame ?

Whats lame about it?
You have zero idea what I use them for so how can you draw a conclusion.
Fact is the pace of eve is too slow for my liking on one account. Now while I am waiting for a gang to form or for targets to engage I can move stuff about on an alt or check the market, build mineral stockpiles or trade.
It's dual accounts or no accounts for me because the game is simply too slow otherwise.
Whats lame about this? do you have some practical objection (ooh, I may "get ahead"), a philosophical one? Or are you just an exclaimation mark troll, one of many?
